With audiovisuals that are cute and charming without becoming dangerously twee, and a challenging and addictive core experience, Dwarven Den would be a solid recommendation even if it came with a price tag attached. The fact that it doesn’t, while still maintaining a high level of quality, makes this even more of a diamond in the rough.

Dwarven Den is a free-to-play game, and its hard currency is difficult to come by if you don't want to buy it. When you die, you have the option of reviving on the spot for ten gems, which is a significant quantity. Otherwise, you're forced to start over again from square one. Oh, the agony of being a dwarf!

The puzzles start out easy enough, while you can grind for better equipment and gear. It's plays fantastically well and looks amazing. They did an awesome job with this one. Expand
