I suspect mobile gaming fans will be playing and replaying this one for years to come. I’m a little surprised to see such effort behind a paid original title on mobile in 2018, particularly without even a hint of added purchases to be found in it. I hope it works out for the developers, because I’d love to see more feasts like this come across my mobile plate now and then.

A perfect mix of exploration, platform, hack & slash and action-RPG! Grimvalor is awesome, compatible with game controllers, iCloud backups, offering sublime graphics, a catchy scenario and a captivating soundtrack. To absolutely own.

Grimvalor is an extraordinary action RPG and one of the best things we've seen on iOS devices in recent years.

The ability to grind previously explored areas to improve skills and equipment is essential for all but the most dextrous players, and those with an MFi joypad will find it preferable to the onscreen controls, which while competent do sometimes let you down in the heat of battle. It’s game of the year material for fans of twitch action.

It's cruel and dark, but there's more to Grimvalor than just another Souls-game riff.

Grimvalor is the best Metroidvania you’ll find on a mobile platform, but doesn’t move the bar for the subgenre at large.

Lack of variety in enemies and level design makes it get old pretty quick, but it's fast-paced action and intuitive controls mostly make up for it
