Lumines Puzzle & Music isn’t your typical mobile puzzle game. You’re going to need a pair of headphones, a lot of time, and a willingness to get lost in trance. If you’re comfortable with that proposition — and if you’ve ever played a Lumines in the past, you know you are — Lumines Puzzle & Music is everything you’re hoping for.

Lumines strikes back on Android and iOS, including the original favorite Shinin' from Mondo Grosso. Finally a mobile worthy version of this great puzzle-music game.

Another excellent entry in the Lumines canon. It might not be the most original, but it's still an awful lot of fun.

A glorious return to form for the series. It takes what was previously a gaming device-only franchise and transitions it successfully onto mobile platforms. While it would be nice to have traditional controller support, the touch-only setup here works fairly well. Visually, it’s about on-par with the full-fledged console entries, but does have some slowdown when it comes to moving from level skin to level skin.

Regardless of whether you have any nostalgia for previous Lumines titles, Puzzle & Music is probably worth getting. Despite some lack of features and some slight control issues Lumines: Puzzle & Music is a great version of a great game.

This is the Lumines I suspect most of us have always wanted on our iOS devices. It's a little light on gameplay modes and I'm not sure I could ever get enough skins to be satisfied, but Puzzle & Music nails the core gameplay and the exceptional aesthetics of the beloved series, and I'm not sure if we can realistically ask for more than that.

Gorgeous game, nothing to compare with the old ios iteration. Actually feels more halfway between the first lumines for psp and electronicGorgeous game, nothing to compare with the old ios iteration. Actually feels more halfway between the first lumines for psp and electronic symphony for psvita.
Controls are now good enough to enjoy the game at a reasonable speed. Still not as precise as phisical buttons but this is an obvious limitation. The game area (the squares) are now bigger and larger, and it's easier to move the block in the right place.
Skins are gorgeous, not 3d as on psvita, but they still have the same structure as on electronic symphony, when the skin and music changes and ephasizes as you proceed. Really enjoyable.
The game lacks game modes and more skins, it would need at least 10 more skins to say it's a "complete game". I am sure more skins will be available in the future.
    Lumines is still Shinin'
