Starship Defense stands out as one of the most enjoyable on the DSiWare store.
Starhip Patrol is another great game from the Q-Games team; a perfectly balanced and accessible tower defense, with tons of style and great value for money. One of the rare gems on the disappointing DSiWare catalogue.

Starship Defense is the best tower defense game on DSiWare. It's cheap, it's got great visuals, and the concept is different enough to make the game standout in a crowded genre.
A great strategy game that makes up for basic graphics with addictive gameplay. [Mar 2010, p.90]
This is as good as you'll find on DSiWare at the moment, and it'll likely stay that way until Q-Games comes up with another mini-marvel. [Feb 2010, p.95]
Q Games has increased their streak to three — Starship Patrol is yet another great addition to the DSiWare library and a game you should definitely consider picking up if you have the slightest bit of interest in the tower defense genre.
