While by no means a replacement for the full PC version of Terraria, this pint-sized iteration is an effortless recommendation.

This is the full version of Terraria built from the ground up for iOS, if you loved it on PC or consoles, you’ll love it here.

Few games manage to port from PC to iOS so well as Terraria.

lthough Terraria requires a big investment of time, it'll open up your creative side. The control scheme works great on mobile devices, and the presentation is slick enough to make the game stand out over the competition. If you need a break from Minecraft: Pocket Edition, this should be your next stop.

Terraria has not made the transition to iOS unscathed, but its cocktail of 2D crafting and exploration is still as engrossing as ever.

Unwieldy controls and missing multiplayer modes let down an otherwise impressive port. [Dec 2013, p.76]

For fans who already play and love Terraria on another platform, the iOS port is a decent supplement if you need a fix away from home. But due to control issues and the lack of multiplayer, a supplement for the real thing is all it will be.

TI thought "No way!" But my mind changed right after playing it for the first time! One of the games main features is the variety of bosses - so far I've defeated 6. Just yesterday I took on and defeated the Wall of Flesh! Some of the cooler bosses: Skeletron Prime, the Goblin Army, the Pirate Army, Eater of Worlds and Duke Fishron! This game is truly amazing! Alright, I'm going to give it straight.

Terraria. Great game. Free roaming, I guess. Slight Story. Lost of stuff and items. Not as much as PC but its good enough for Mobile.

The only downside is that for the people who have beaten all bosses, what do we do next? They haven't released the final bosses and items yet, and there is no mod area to get more bosses.

Mobile controls may be a bit finicky, but with time and patience, you can get used to them. Terraria is quite difficult, with the endgame being a gauntlet of fights.

People compare Terraria to Minecraft a lot, when really, they aren’t alike at all. Terraria worlds are more of a short-term thing, with limited size and the constant threat of the corruption slowly eating away at your world. If you want to use a world long term, it’s possible to cut off the corruption, but it’s VERY time consuming.

Terraria has a heavy focus on progression and combat, with building just being an extra. If building is all you truly care about, however, Journey Mode allows you to duplicate materials, and has a Godmode, allowing you to completely ignore all forms of damage.

Everything here's except multiplayer, which is a real shame. However this will always be my last port of call for Terraria play simply due to the usual reason when playing almost all touchscreen games : awkward and difficult controls. Going from my xbox controller to using a touchscreen feels like playing the game with one arm tied behind my back. Expand

It reeks of cut corners and a general lack of care for making the game seem like there was effort put in or that it actually wants you to play it. Dozens of items from the PC version are excluded, and replaced with idiotic holiday-themed bosses that constantly clip through blocks and bug out. This is, undoubtedly, the worst possible way to play Terraria. There isn't much thought involved in making that proclamation. Expand
