If you’re a big fan of Gerald of Rivia and you couldn’t get the actual board game, it is an acceptable way of enjoying it. If you’re not a fan of the saga, or if you don't understand complex board games, stay away from it.

A digital adaptation of the tabletop game of the same name, The Witcher Adventure Game is good but has a critical flaw.

The Witcher Adventure Game is a truly stunning digital version of the board game, that sadly only highlights how much more fun you and your friends could be having playing the physical version.

A well put together, thematically intriguing digital boardgame, but it's not for anyone with a fear of chits.

The ramping difficulty unnecessarily lengthens all but the shortest duration games, but the overall gameplay gives you just enough control over random elements that most board gamers won't lose focus.

Really, the only real issue I can see with The Witcher Battle Arena, aside from some stability issues that will no doubt get ironed out before long, is that it feels like a side gig that CD Projekt Red whipped up while most of its team was polishing the next big PC game, and it probably was.

If this was a 20-30 minute game, maybe, but clocking in at over 2 hours and not being able to save is a death sentence. Knowing that the odds are stacked against finishing a game doesn’t give me much incentive to start one.
