Voyageur is a game about exploration and imagination where you decide who you are and why you're hurtling through space faster than light. I recommend it to gamers who enjoy a more open-ended experience, and don't mind a bit of repetition.

Voyageur is an intriguing tale of sci-fi style exploration that gradually switches from fascinating to a little too ponderous for its own good. It never quite reaches the heights of its potential, but you’ll still find it strangely compelling. Until, that is, one day it’s not.

Solid writing and interesting sci-fi worlds balance out Voyageur's repetitive late game issues.

Overall, Voyageur is an ambitious attempt at a procedurally generated sci-fi interactive fiction whose lengthy playthroughs end up hurting it rather than helping it. There's plenty to explore and plenty to do, so it's worth at least one trip down the galaxy; unfortunately, you might not feel like going through it again after it's done.

Voyageur's biggest problem is that there isn't enough of it. For a game about exploring an environment as vast as space, the whole game becomes pretty familiar and feels really small after spending just a short time with it. As much as I love what is currently in Voyageur's package right now, they way it gets recycled makes it hard to recommend.
