It's based on scrabble rules - you get a grid of letters and the goal is to make words from them, the longer the word and the trickier the letters, the higher the score.

On top of that premise the individual levels all have uniquely designed grids, sometimes with preset letter types, or with covers on the letters to force you to uncover them. They also have different objectives, like getting a certain score or beating the clock, or creating a specific word. Objectives are combined together in levels, and the sheer number of combinations stop the regular game from getting repetitive.

The thing that makes the game most fun is the 'Power Flowers'. Once you make a word at least 5 letters long, you spawn increasingly potent 'Power Flowers'. These are blank letters that explode nearby letters when used. As blank letters making one power flower makes it easier to create a longer word, and that makes a more powerful flower, which makes bigger explosions. Fun stuff!

Two player mode also deserves a mention. It's basically the core elements of the game (make words from letters on the grid, create power flowers to help) but playing against someone else online. You both start with a half filled grid and the objective is to make words to send all your letters to the opponents grid, whoever's fills up first loses. It's a pretty awesome feeling to save up a bunch of power flowers and then bombard your opponent with everything you have all at once!

To sum up, this is a very good game if you like word games or puzzlers, the gameplay is very strong and varied enough to not get repetitive. I also have to mention the graphics, Wordbuzz looks incredible. It has really nice animations when things explode, or when the cartoony insects bounce around at the end of a level, but it's a lot smoother than a lot of the other big apps out there, like those King games.

This is by far and away the most enjoyable game I have on my phone. Every level is a bit different, all are challenging but not impossible. My only real complaint is that there need to be a few more levels. Expand

This is pretty good stuff, I came to wordbuzz from alphabetty which is similar but got boring after a while. It's kinda like candy crush in that you need to make blocks fall down and get big combos, but the blocks here are letter tiles instead of colors and the combos come from making words. The grid is always a consistent shape which is great, that's one of the things that made me grow to hate alphabetty. Expand
