The developer has refined and perfected the combat. It kept its silliness in tact. It kept in the darker themes and deep moments of self-reflection that we all need every once in awhile. It’s, quite frankly, the best Kingdom Hearts game Square Enix has ever created.
Kingdom Hearts III is finally here, and the story of 7 guardians of light and 13 forces of darkness is now over. A story full of exciting, happy and sad moments that tries to show us that friendship is a force so strong that can defeat just anything.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is already one of the best games for me personally in 2019. Because of the childhood memories, the staging, the fun fights and the great mix of epic square fantasy and the winking Disney style. Besides, it just makes me happy to beat the styled, overpowering villains with a cactus.
You're going to visit Olympus, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, even Winnie the Pooh – and each world is created up to the highest standards. [Issue#236, p.44]
Kingdom Hearts III may not be the tour de force that fans have been craving for so many years, but it's brimming with beauty, variety, and setpieces that effectively utilize a fantastic combat system.
To be truth, I love the art style and the characters. But the game is so confusing to play and the mechanics aren't my type of favorite although I do like this series, there were some wrong things that happened in this game that I honestly wished they were much better. But overall 7/10
It was nice to wander in his fun and colorful world. I went so far as to unlock all the achievements in the game. The combat system was good enough for me. The spaceship controls are weird, but it's over now :) The story is too complicated for me now, but it didn't seem as impressive as the second game. Maybe it's because I'm getting old.
With an amazing and exciting beginning that draws you in, Kingdom Hearts III quickly dives into squandered opportunity and monotonous gameplay that zombifies into just mashing the X button until you win. What it gets right with visuals and spectacle it flops with ridiculous one-dimensional characters and an over-arching plot that ultimately leads to nothing. The writing devolves into basic plot devices and constant repetition of "hearts," "darkness," "light," and not much more than that. Traversal has gotten a huge upgrade with way more methods of movement, and the worlds themselves feel way more alive than previous entries, but inevitably falls flat in certain areas. A disappointing finale to the "Dark Seeker Saga" of the series that most definitely will lead to just another dark void of repetitive nothing.
