Lords of the Fallen succeeds in everything it tries. This may be a blood-filled trip but Mournstead, through its magical dual world, always calls us back for a last mortal dance.
Perfection !!! EXCELLENT!!! awesome !!!
Fantastic Enemies Amazing attention to detail
Past Great Bosses and mechanics are on point
Best soul Game So Far !!!!
This game is brilliant on the PS5, took a little while to understand what its all about but when you get into it you can't put the controller down, yes a few ideas copied from its competitors but as a player its no big deal, if you liked Elden Ring, Dark Souls etc you will enjoy it, bosses are similar, seem a bit difficult until you work out their moves, game looks amazing, character moves well in combat, plenty of twists and turns, I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
That's it, CI Games and HexWorks finally have the Souls-like they wanted to add to their portfolio. Making a clean slate of the past is never easy, but Lords of the Fallen has definitely risen to this second chance. Yet anchored in a very classic formula which could have been detrimental to it, Lords of the Fallen does not rest on the laurels of others and delivers some interesting ideas which set it apart from the competition. Despite everything, the title still has too many small flaws and frustrations to climb to the top of the rankings. That being said, we are convinced of the potential of the license, even if it will need more effort to assert itself and flourish. This is not quite the case yet, but the second (a sequel?) will perhaps be the good one, as the destiny of the franchise dictates.
It's a shame that the technical side, despite having left the most serious problems behind, still shows some rather obvious aesthetic defects, and that the multiplayer mode is almost useless, decisively clipping the wings of a product that remains valid, but could have shone much more.
Lords of the Fallen makes a great first impression, but fails to steer away from the sour taste left by a couple of annoying decisions and technical issues.
Lords of the Fallen may be better than its predecessor in many regards, but it isn’t quite worthy of standing among the genre giants yet. However, this isn’t from a lack of trying. Excellent and varied biomes are on offer that are truly striking and immersive to be beheld to. There are quality improvements to make the experience smoother. Still, balancing for builds, boss fights… the whole gambit is a little all over the place so far. Consider this with some of the bugs currently experienced in-game and it’s not quite smooth sailing yet. Hopefully, before long Lords can be patched into a state where it stands solidly amongst the genre giants.
I desperately want to like Lords of the Fallen, but it's the first game all year that's actively annoyed me. I love the Soulslike genre more than any other, but this game took all of the lessons it could have learned since the original Lords of the Fallen and either forgot them entirely, or just misunderstood them so greviously that you'd assume it skipped a class.
This game is incredible! The maps are humongous making exploration fun and eventful. The combat is top notch and the graphics look amazing! It has everything you’d expect in a soulsbourne as well as a few new mechanics all its own. Specifically the lamp mechanic that teleports you from the surface world into the umbra version of the world is a wonderful addition that changes how you approach this game. Only dislike is the targeting lock-on not working great. Honestly the only thing I found to be lacking, it’s manageable but should be fixed to work better in an update. 10 no question! Will spend hundreds of hours in this game.
I found the variety of enemies okay, but it could be better, far from being bad. Sometimes, the excess of enemies is bothersome. What irritated me the most was the glitchy aiming; there was a time when my character did a 360 for no reason, causing several issues. Sluggish animations for everything were another downside; I died multiple times being stuck in them, especially during healing or using spells. The game's optimization is lacking; there are nonsensical FPS drops in various areas, and it becomes heavier as you progress.Regarding the graphics, they have their ups and downs; at times, they are excellent, but in others, they seem like an ordinary PS4 game. However, the artistic design of the environments, characters, and bosses is very good. I enjoyed the Umbral mechanic, but the excessive number of enemies hampers exploration. There are many armors, but there is no gradual evolution in all aspects; for instance, one armor provides 150 fire protection and 200 ice protection, while another offers 220 ice protection and 130 fire protection - so, which one to choose? As you advance, the armors should be more powerful in all aspects. The combat is good, except for the glitchy aiming. It lacked refinement; the game has the potential to be excellen
Atrocious. I never felt this angry about game designs and mechanicS than this. I wanted to love Lords of the Fallen so bad, I really like this aesthetic. Damn what horrible decisions about enemy placement, difficulty designs and disgusting performance. This game is unplayable on Quality mode on PS5, too much frame stutter, too much lag and its almost impossible to adjust to this to time attacks and other movements accordingly. The thing is that on Performance mode, the game looks washed-up, everything is kinda brownish-grey without contrast, depth of shape, shadow and blends together making the surroundings low quality. Even with the patches they made, this game is ridiculously difficult. Even at level 50 I barely notice any enhancement to my damage, some enemy have huge amount of armor or health and Im barely scratching them with my heavy attacks, they all have the skate forward move when attacking, smashing the exact position of where you are after evading the first move, its cheap, really. The timing between hits in their combo too feels too much tweaked around the time it takes for you to either block or dodge, breaking immersion, making you remember your holding a controller all the time and just making it more difficult on top of frustrating. You level up a stat and get a 1% increase, almost every enemy is surrounded by cheap shot enemy placed to throw you off, shoot you at a distance with an invisible immunity shield you need to syphon out from a spot before attacking. I cannot sustain this. This is unbearable, when other critics said its better to just run and avoid them, they were right. Your supposed to play a level and get better at it by avoiding traps and overcoming enemies, then at the end of the level you get a BOSS that test what you learned and push you to feel like your getting it than your ready for the next part, the next area, the next mechanic or items, or weapons, or monster move set. Here this is the same 5 or6 enemies all the time, they just get ridiculously high health or armor, are placed in cheap shot spot with godzillion dogs or archers with shield. I never felt like I was progressing whatsoever. Even the boss mechanic reflect that. Youll get to a spawn location, only to be stuck there to return to where you passed to get into the gank narrow spot you need to go and feel hopeless. It makes no sense anyway, Only one or two enemy here and there makes sense (like a knight that is worshipping an altar or something) but the rest are Evidently placed there to wait to cheap shot you, breaking immersion. I am really pissed right now, I unistalled this garbage, hoping they might massively fixed this and try it again in a year, but I doubt that. I loved Demon Souls, Elden Ring and Lies of P. This game is more attractive by its looks and aesthethic but lacks utterly in any other area. This is the most interesting, beautiful bad game I ever played. I will gladly destroy my physical copy of it the next time I play and have this feeling. Thanks...
4 only for art designers - this is the only thing this game does good.
Generally - this is the most awful soulslike I've ever play.
The only thing that gamedesiners can do - spawn endless mobs from the air and copy identical enemies during the entire game.
