At this point, I have no problem saying that developer TheCodingMonkeys has me hook, line and sinker.
This new presentation is particularly appropriate since the entire game is such an enthusiastic package. This isn't just a way to play Lost Cities matches. It's a whole silly metagame, with four different AI opponents, ingame emoticon chat, goals, and leveling up.
I dare say this is the most accessible and newbie friendly Knizia iOS game yet.
While other board games remain content to try to boil down or otherwise crowbar their game on to the iOS platform, Lost Cities feels completely at home thanks to its casual simplicity.
This is a fantastic game. It is even easier to play than the original board game, although the concept is the same. Think of it as a twist on solitaire, only you don't have to play this game alone.
Lost Cities won't make you feel like an explorer, but this card game is a wonderfully vicious twist on gin rummy.
No matter how different the results, every game feels pretty much the same, and that really cripples its long-term appeal.
