Moco Moco Friends is a sweet, snappy, and engaging game that does what few of its ilk manage to: craft a genuinely high-quality experience that's tailor-made for younger players.
Moco Moco Friends is geared firmly toward young children, but the magical girl aesthetics and witty script allow it to transcend an otherwise middling JRPG. It wouldn’t have hurt to take a couple more cues from the collect-and-battle RPG greats and, with a sequel, Moco Moco Friends could be elevated substantially. As is, there’s something to be said for the pure, clean fun Moco delivers in spades.
Moco Moco Friends is not be the perfect Pokémon substitute but while it may get repetitive on the short term, it makes up for this in terms of artistic quality and in the experience of collecting the creatures known as Plushies. Its joyful and fun environment, riddled with humour all the way through, is set to strike a chord with one segment of the audience.
The only ones that should give this a look are those who have exhausted all of the other games of this genre and are still clamoring for another traditional monster-gathering RPG.
Moco Moco Friends shines in a way that many games do not with its completely genuine approach to storytelling, and I loved it for that alone. While it may not be the most complex RPG I've played, it has a ton of heart, and sometimes that can go a long way.
Beyond the cute veneer, Moco Moco Friends is a slightly above average dungeon crawler with a decent crafting system and serviceable combat mechanic. At this point, there are so many better games to choose from, but if you can't get enough RPGs, Moco is ready and willing to accept your call.
I hated this game, I downloaded it around a year ago and I was bored about five minutes after I started playing. I gave it many chances and played it for a couple hours and I still hate it. The music is terrible and gets annoying extremely quick, I absolutely despise every character (especially Moco), the story is terrible, there are way too many colors that if I play this game for more than an hour I'll get a headache, the art isn't anything special, the character designs look like they took 5 minutes to draw, the main character "Moco" is without a doubt the most annoying video game character I've seen, it's not fun in the slightest, and all around just one of the worst (if not the worst) games I've ever played. I regret purchasing it, and I wouldn't really consider this a real game. The only way this game would appeal to anyone is if you were under 8 years old and you don't mind doing the exact same this over and over again.
