My Hero One’s Justice 2 is an anime arena fighter with really good ideas. It probably won’t see anyone if they aren’t already My Hero Academia fans, but anyone who is already in the fanbase will eat it up. And hey, if you aren’t a fan but get a chance to play anyway, give it a shot, it might just surprise you.
Even with its limitations and with an approach that seeks to exploit fan service, MY HERO ONE'S JUSTICE 2 finds its way as a video game, with a good dose of fun, and that is saying a lot among so many bad games that have manipulated the passion of anime fans.
This game gets way too much hate. People will criticize this game and then say storm is sooooo good. I love both games, have been playing storm since I was a kid. Storm doesn’t have much more depth then this game for the casual audience
My Hero One’s Justice 2 is a straightforward expansion of the first game, offering new characters and stages galore. Although it relies on the same disappointing implementation of the anime’s story, the arcade mode compensates with humour. The refined arena fighting gameplay carries this one to being among the more unique anime arena fighters in recent years. The sheer personality of each character might be enough for those vaguely interested in the My Hero Academia craze to give this one a shot.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 feels like an expansion rather than a sequel. There is more content, but that’s about it. It can be a good choice if you like the anime, but it isn’t very deep if you want a fighting game.
My Hero One's Justice 2 has improved in almost every aspect compared to its predecessor, and while its new features are enough to keep the fans of the series happy, the depth of gameplay and the fact that it gets repetitive, prevent it from becoming an ideal choice for all the fans of the genre.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 is a treat for fans of the series. For non-fans, it’s a capable over-the-shoulder arena fighter, with a host of fun and very different characters to avail from. The game does run into some performance issues on the Nintendo Switch, where frame rates can drop during bigger set-pieces, but it’s a fun and enjoyable play all the same.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 ended up just making me sad. The game had immense promise but was dragged down by its setbacks. With an interesting story, intense battles, and different ways to play, I should like this game so much more. Instead, I have to draw attention to the issues that have brought down what could be a fantastic gaming experience. I mostly feel bad for this game’s developers, who demonstrate that they have a clear understanding and passion for their source material. Unfortunately, this hero based game proved to be a zero.
My hero’s one’s justice 2 I think is a decent game if play for casual and as a fan of the show. Both this and the original have problems, but MHOJ2 to me is much slower paced combat wise when compared to its predecessor. The way the Plus Ultra gauge works I find it may add a layer of depth of knowing when to use the moves that lower your gauge, but hinders people that are used to the fast paced combat of the first. I find many moves that where once combo starters are now combo enders or don’t combo at all. It also lost a layer of depth by taking out the ring out mechanic which made many stages feel more like a box, ring out made the battles sprawl out all over the map, going from one end to another worrying about where you are mid air or what move your opponent can use that could either take you both out or just send you down to the ring out. They also removed Shigarakis main gimmick which made him at least a threat.
I am a giant fan of the show, but this game is a pale and uninspired mess solely made to cash in on your love of the property.
Combat boils down to every character masing the same combo button, power move buttons, and triggering Super moves the exact same way. The camera is a frenetic mess flopping around like crazy. AI enemies run around in circles for a noticeable pre-determined amount of time before attacking in the same scripted way over and over.
The story mode is nothing more than Season 3 part two through Season 4 part 1. You mash buttons, unlock items and money by completing trivial challenges per chapter, rinse, and repeat. For people that enjoyed the English voice work on the anime; you're out luck here.
Beyond this, the game is just boring to play. There is no power trip for the player no matter who you to play. All Might feels no different in terms of strength as someone like Uraraka. I wish there was more I could give the game, but it really misses the mark.
