Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a well-oiled horror mechanism. It's a great sequel that will be loved by the old and new players.
A perfect clash of Dear Esther and Amnesia, focused on straining your nerves while easing - perhaps a tad too much - on the interaction and gameplay. [Issue#234]

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is definitely a good game, but it's difficult to categorize this game as an Amnesia game.
Meetings with our enemies are not so dangerous, there are few puzzles, the lantern is eternal, and the loss of mind was removed (the main character is not afraid of the dark).
But I still liked the game!
This game has a very cool plot, a cool atmosphere, which is helped by a great OST and an interesting concept with pigs.
There are a lot of different locations that are made incredibly cool!
The small number of puzzles and the small number of dangerous encounters with pigs makes the game easy, which allows you to fully focus on the plot.
So my assessment will still be positive.

The best way to enjoy Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is to treat it like an interactive movie. Just don’t expect any scares in this otherwise impressive drama.
A Machine for Pigs is a well made and impressive game with a thorough
thematic design and atmosphere. As a horror game it is rather spartan
yet brilliant in that it let’s your brain conjure most of its
horrors. Unfortunately it comes with a rather numbing effect that
makes later parts of the game feel more formulaic and not as scary.
If you want to be told a vexingly bizarre story presented with a real sense of style, The Chinese Room may have exactly what you want. If you're a massive survival horror fan who wants to be made to scream, however, you probably want to stick your snout in someone else's offal.
It isn’t as nerve-shreddingly terrifying as its predecessor, but A Machine for Pigs purveys a different kind of horror, revelling in the power of suggestion rather than the substance of real threat.
A Machine for Pigs takes Amnesia's formula and shows us how to screw it up. The idea had huge potential, but it's squandered on what frankly is a cheap and uninvolving game. This was an extremely disappointing experience.
amnesia machine for pigs is a very fun game tho not as great as the dark decent mainly not as much is interactable this isnt a big deal since this is a horror game so lets get to that
the horror also is not as great first the atmosphere is just not as tence plus having unlimited oil and there being no sanity makes the game lose some of its horror plus when you can get killed by the monster it just isnt as intense but the story is very great again you explore while getting your memory back since it is a facotry your exploring (when you get to that point) the amnesia consept feels better executed but overal the game just isnt as great as the original one but still recomended

Huge disappointment, this game is basically Amnisia: the walking sim. The game is way more linear than TDD, there's one straight path from start to finish and you would never risk to go the wrong way because the correct path are always super obvious. Not that it would matter anyway I guess since you can't ever interact with any "wrong doors", there's actually very few things you can interact with in this game apart from the notes and the audio storytelling objects.
They also removed all items, insanity meter, oil meter and basically all puzzle elements.
