  • Summary: Archangel Hellfire is the unholy union of godlike mech weaponry and infernal team deathmatch gameplay. This intense, free roaming shooter has you pilot massive weapons of death, armed to the teeth, fighting for our future.

Overall there is a nice sense of scale and mechs are always fun to play in. It sounds like the multiplayer component is a lot of fun but if you are like me, you may find it hard to find a game to join. I’m happy playing single player though so it doesn’t bother me too much (though free movement in a mech would be nice). If you are only really interested in the muliplayer just keep in mind it might be hard to find a match… but if you are keen on the single player then this is certainly a decent option.

Expanding on the foundation of the single player experience, Archangel Hellfire completes the package by adding an excellent PvP mode, and an interesting if somewhat short Co-op experience. With the promise of additional maps on the way, Hellfire breathes new life into this title.

Overall, ArchAngel: Hellfire does a good job with PvP. The maps are nice, the mechs and controls are solid, and there isn’t a lot to dislike about what Skydance Interactive put together. I will say that the co-op leaves a little to be desired, but that’s not the reason you will want to play Hellfire. Hopefully more updates in the future will improve upon this solid groundwork.

Archangel: Hellfire is the most fun I’ve had inside of a VR mech to date. The multiplayer action is top-notch with a ton of build variety and extreme differences in playstyles between each type of mech and maps are just big enough to really showcase the scale of combat. While the co-op mode is a bit lackluster with only one map and simple waves of enemies, it provides a good training ground to loosen up before PvP.

While Archangel: Hellfire‘s single player mode is undoubtedly entertaining, its multiplayer modes are where the game really comes into its own. By allowing free movement, it really feels like it’s giving you control of your very own mech.

As a free-to-play game, the PvP version of the online multiplayer Mech-based battle arena Archangel:Hellfire is an obvious must-have for fans of the mech genre. The co-op version requires the purchase of the Archangel single-player campaign, but that too is a pretty good deal. While the campaign is a rail shooter, which won't please players that prefer to have a bit more control over the path they take, it is quite good too. The co-op battles are a lot of fun, but an inefficient means of setting up the gaming sessions can be burdensome.

For players like me who seek more depth in multiplayer shooters, you may not find much lasting appeal in Hellfire.

There have been several recent tournaments and I'm happy to say I won one with the help of a great wingman (shout out to Pesky). This is a must-have title, and considering that the PVP is free, a must try as well. Expand

Best vr mech game by far, and one of the best ever. Good action and great depth. It's also very comfortable in vr.
