Assetto Corsa Competizione offers the best sim racing experience on the market in terms of feeling, immersion and handling. There's still room to polish and improve some features and add more content, but Kunos Simulazioni just had a burning start and goes straight to the first corner leading the group.

Kunos Simulazioni brings the Blancpain Championship in our homes, and we don’t need either the GT superlicence to drive it.

Great simulation model with night driving and accurated weather conditions. Career mode and multiplayer aren't perfect and lack of some interesting feature.

Without having to pay for iRacing or rFactor, Assetto Corsa Competizione is as real as it gets when getting behind the wheel. Players just need to have the proper setup to make the most of it. The Blancpain GT Series sponsorship is both a blessing and a curse. The cars and tracks from the series are all here and offer a solid variety, but that’s all you get. The content in the game is bare bones even though being able to do a 24-hour race or a Sprint Race is nice. Competizione is all about the racing and that is what it does best. The car visuals, and more importantly the audio, provides the closest thing to being on a track.

Assetto Corsa Competizione pulls the limits of realism with a nice use of the Blancpain GT Series, but Kunos needs to improve the overall feeling of a videogame. The lack of matchmaking and a poor multiplayer system reduce his life in a long-middle term.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is a real racing simulation, which is not something that can be said for most games. But as it is an advantage for serious driving fans, it is also a major flaw, as it will hardly attract new players. The biggest flaw of the game is it’s low and inconsistent frame rate, which might push off even the biggest fans if not dealt with in the near future.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has the skeleton of an exceptional racing simulation, but Kunos' efforts to flesh out the breathtaking engine and tight mechanics are ultimately paper-thin.

Pour moi le meilleur jeux de voiture a ce jour, reste simple avec uniquement des GT mais extrêmement efficace pour le plaisir de jouer.

This is the state-of-the-art PC based motorsport simulation in terms of driving fidelity.

If you ever watched a GT race (with on-boards), listened to the race commentaries and drivers interviews, you'll find yourself familiar with the subject after "driving" a fair amount of hours with the simulation. I am talking about driving constantly on the edge, with laptimes comparable to the real ones.
Racecar setup knowledge is a must if you want to shave off those tenths from your personal best or to adapt to the track dconditions altering tyres pressures and angles.

If you hope to jump in the cockpit of the one car you deem looking the coolest and immediately start sliding across the track exchanging door paint with your opponents, you're set onto a painful and excruciating path. Being fast is no joke, and takes skills, concentration and practice practice practice.

During the race you'll find yourself managing the tyres in order to keep your laptimes consistent.
Too aggressive with less than optimal track conditions? you get graining on the front.
Greedy traction control setting and hasty exiting corners? hot rears and eventual blistering.
Too optimistic on that bumpy kerb or corner cut? high risk of losing tyre pressure.

There are many other things that can go wrong. At first, the time loss is insignificant, but these events will sum up and you'll be forced to slow down at best. One hesitation, one mistake and you spin, flatspot your tyres..

This should give an idea of the accuracy of the simulation.

Unfortunately, being a PC software it has it share of quirks and bugs, mostly UI related, and despite of a competent AI (provided you're fast) the singleplayer experience feels somewhat still at a work-in-progress phase.
Patches come out regularly addressing a wide spectre of issues.

    To sum up

    PROs:
    - physics (being improved as I write)
    - highly detailed laser-scanned tracks
    - dynamic weather (Rain physics are superb)
    - sounds
    - photorealistic visuals
    - stable multiplayer
    - advanced driver rating system
    - detailed cars and liveries from 2018 Blancpain GT (2019 addon on its way)
    - acceptable VR performance
    - developers listen to the community

    CONs:
    - Tyre model issues on some kerbs (being reworked with next patch 1.0.7)
    - VR visuals (AA, shadows)
    - UI bugs here and there
    - Rating system currently not fully functional

At least the physics seems right and the racing is interesting. The AI is decent. Racing under wet condition is quite different. Saving features are missing in some areas. But the game has a lot for bugs. Many related to pitting, the UI, graphical glitches. It's already 3-4 patches and I wonder if they creates more issues then they solved. I give it a 70%. Really ACC was release too soon. It felt like I was playing a game in Beta state and that's not good. Maybe in 3-6 months that game will be fully playable with all the patches. Expand

The reason I refunded it is because it doesn't have mouse support in VR and you can't use a keyboard/button box with a wheel. Sorry, if I wanted to play GT Sport I'd turn on my PS4. Hopefully they'll patch those in and I may purchase it, again. Expand

So much hope and so little delivery. This sim promised a lot and delivered well short of expectations. Forget the multiplayer expectations, weSo much hope and so little delivery. This sim promised a lot and delivered well short of expectations. Forget the multiplayer expectations, we all got over that. The AI is just woeful, the UI is clunky as anything, the variety is non-existant (but we know it was GT3 only, so that's fine), the multiplayer is a ghost town, but the VR.... the VR is just astoundingly, mindblowingly awful in every way.

Kunos have been very defensive about it when asked because they know that UE4 is not capable as a racing VR engine. They admitted that on their forums.

This sim is awful, Kunos have admitted that it can't be fixed in future due to the limitations of the engine and I have to say that despite the better FFB and laser scanned tracks, this is a step (or 10) backwards from the original AC.

We're now many patches in and all they've done is add more and more bugs.

    Avoid it.
