There's definitely some re-tread going on with Batman: Arkham Origins, but the combat, the relatively good story (B-list villain aside), the powerful feeling of being Batman in video game form has only muted my enthusiasm for the franchise by the smallest of margins.

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Origins is absolutely the best in terms of detail, smoothness, drawing distance and particle effects, though it suffers from a series of annoying glitches.

A faithful sequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but sadly a little too conservative in some ways. Barely any new features add to the gameplay, which is naturally as strong as within its predecessors. The story is interesting, cutscenes and dialogues are well written and impressively presented. A minor setback: the Riddler riddles have been removed for this one.

If you’re a Batman fan you should already have Batman: Arkham Origins, but anyone else might want to hold off a couple of weeks for some patches to come through.

An OK effort for an Arkham game, Batman Arkham Origins feels too similar to Arkham City and there are a few game breaking bugs that prevent it from being worthy to stand with the other two.

The story is the best in the series but, when it comes to gameplay, Warner Bros. Montreal seem to have taken the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra and done the exact opposite.

Uninventive, but still enjoyable thanks to the quality of the basic mechanics on offer. Unfortunately, the PC version's bugs make it a much harder sell than it should be.

There are a few minor glitches, but it doesn't detract from the game (if you use a controller and have Synergy it may behave weirdly, just disable synergy or put the other computer to sleep my mouse only went off the left screen). Still set in Arkham City, plus a bit more across the bridge, and the Batcave is there. Still has the same combat. Thus far, they seem to have done well. It's very fun to play and has very good dialogue and story.

I do find it weird having Batman ask who certain villains are, or anyone being like "who's the Batman? You made him up!" or "you're just seeing things!", since we obviously know who Batman is as well as several of the villains that Batman doesn't know yet...

Very glad I got it. You won't be disappointed. Put your fears to rest, they didn't produce a half-assed game.

It's also the same city from the previous game, but the action and fun here is top notch, on par with previous games, just not different enough from the previous games. Expand

The villain lineup is fabulous and the Black Mask reveal comes with a twist. I loved this game, the game has 8 assassins hunting Batman for $50 Million bounty. The DLC is average but the Batsuit is amazing. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because of the hype they created in the trailer for DeathBlade doesn't stand up to it. Expand

Plus the map in this game is bigger and i like the Christmas theme of the city . I was thinking about size of arkham city and it seems like its not big enough. How could a city that size fit the akham asylum lunatics and all the black gate prisoners? I just don't think fit all those people. This game has problems though. Its buggy but i still like it! Batman Arkham Origins : the game released after Arkham City to tell us the beginnings of the Batman of the Arkhamverse
It's a shame to put this note for an Arkham game as a fan, but this game deserves it
the script is very good and offers us incredible sequences while leaning much more on the detective side of Batman, the scenario is very well paced between action scene, infiltration and detective phase
but the problem are the graphics, the game is less beautiful than Arkham Asylum while it comes out four years after Asylum (it shows that the game was made by Warner Montreal and not Rocksteady)
all this without talking about all these bugs of textures and the terrible sound design of the game (sometimes you can see that the characters open their mouths but we do not hear what they say, or sometimes the speech of some bandits is shifted compared to the movement of their mouths) but THE BIGGEST WEAKNESS of the game is well the number of glitch, sometimes you can teleport below the Map, and remain stuck in a door without being able to open it)
The animations of the characters are less fluid than before

So this game is completely forgettable,''Osef'' as we would say in France, a game that seems to be a demo so it is not complete, thousands of bugs, the game that crashes almost all the time and graphics that sometimes seems atrocious because of many bugs textures
and it's a shame because the scenario is good and very well written
but Warner Bros Montreal did the bare minimum, not very encouraging when you see that they are going to make Gotham Knights, which is not part of Arkham Verse, so at least we can be relieved that they are not going to ruin a flagship license of video games
