It has its problems -- some technical shortcomings here and there, some camera oversights and the occasional level layout difficulty, but I have to admit that I enjoyed playing through the 3D action title.
-
A decent action-adventure that should provide players with some fun moments, albeit without any background or meaning to it. I had fun with it, but not as much fun as I could've had if the story and voice acting were even half-decent.
-
Even those who love the gore and carnage, I suspect that the novelty would soon wear off.
-
The replay value is literally non-existent.

PC GamerThis game simply isn't fun for very long. [July 2003, p.76]

BloodRayne may feature the va-va-voomiest bloodsucker in gaming, George Romero-style gore that includes lots of decapitations, and everyone's favorite goose-stepping bad guys, but gameplay is so predictable that you'll be stifling yawns even as you tear open jugulars.
-
Computer Games MagazineA schizophrenic title, caught somewhere between its teenaged visual aesthetic and some moments of truly solid game design. [July 2003, p.84]
