    Breathedge is one of those games you can play casually at your own pace and doesn’t require long consecutive amounts of time to play. Sparring 15-20 minutes here and there is all that’s required for a steady progression through the game but still very enjoyable if you’ve got ample time up your sleeve as well. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys easter egg styled dad jokes or wants something oddly rewarding to play at a casual pace.

    It’s not very helpful at the start, and at times the comedy falls flat. But stick with Breathedge and there’s a surprisingly deep mechanic entwined with a Schafer-esque story adventure.

    Awesome when it’s about visual interface and immersion, but it has several design mistakes that slow down game’s rate. Luckily, losing oneself floating through the space it’s worth it while we unlock extras. It’s also a video game with many doses of humor and easy to keep players hooked to the main plot.

    Breathedge has a lot going for it in its well-loved Early Access sandbox portion. But when it becomes more of a walking simulator, things take a turn. Regardless, it's a funny game that's still worth playing for anyone who enjoys the concept and the humor. But I can't help but think that many will be disappointed by the later parts of the game.

    In a nutshell, Breathedge is a Subnautica in space. While it’s not as good as the Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s masterpiece and would benefit from a better story, it’s still a solid survival game, real pretty and spiced up with absurd humor. [05/2021, p.58]

    While there’s some comfort in the repetitive routine of mining and seeking refuge back in your space liner, as you gradually chip away at your objectives, its endless gags and space jokes do get tedious very quickly.

    It reminds me of playing Zork from too long ago .It is not like playing a modern game that holds your hand. I appreciate that.
    If you keep at it and learn the mechanics and use the info you have, it is not I have found it to overly difficult but it is not a cakewalk. . It takes a lot of trial and error to find the right way to get where you need to and still survive. Just be sure to save frequently otherwise you are in the tank.
    Isn't that the point of a survival game?
    I think it is balanced well. Others may disagree, however this type of game rewards those that can deal with a ton of failure when first starting out.
    If you want to conquer this game it will take a lot of time to find optimal paths to the places you want to go.
    At the beginning it is a grind, to be sure. It starts very slowly as you learn how to live in this inhospitable environment.
    Stay with it. It keeps getting better..

    The story and its humour is so good. Most of the astronauts deaths you found out there are just hilarious.
    Lots of materials, tools, spacesuits, vehicles, base modules, ...

    It has a few annoying mechanics maybe, like the tools that brake too fast or the things you need to hit so many times. There are also super important resources and blueprints that are so hidden that you easily miss them. Then you need to search in every rock and metal piece to be sure you're not missing anything important.
    All this mechanics seem to be a way to extend the game in a boring way. Specially in the last chapter where survival, space exploration and base management suddenly changes to long walks back and forth and boss "fights" where you don't need to fight at all.

    In top of that there's a super annoying spacesuit AI making jokes every single minute of the game. Most of the jokes are great and I enjoyed them for a while... but after several hours it's annoying as hell.

    Overall a super enjoyable and fun to play game. If they just changed a couple of things it could easily be a 10.    … Expand
