In its current form, The Serpent’s Curse is half finished. The second episode isn’t due out until sometime this month but do not fear, episode one is pretty substantial and ends with a satisfactory cliffhanger.
A solid return to form for a long-running series with a proud heritage -- though right now it's left frustratingly hanging and thus may provide a better experience once it's all wrapped up.

Back to its roots, beautiful game, really well drawn I was quite taken aback when it opened with the eagle flying off. Somehow expecting it not to look as good as it does! , good dialogue as we're used to in these games. And a good storyline. This is how the series should have evolved Looking forward to part two and hopefully broken sword 6! Don't listen to critics this is a great game! Although I am a fan of the series and point and clicks in general I wouldn't have rated it so positively if it wasn't that good! Happy man right here

Wonderfully crafted point and click adventure with a story to keep you hooked and some great voice acting and backdrops. Pay no heed to the critics they obviously didn't get paid off when reviewing this. If you enjoyed the previous broken sword games or classic point and click nostalgia then you will want to give this a shot. All in all a very fun game and highly recommended.

In Broken Sword 5, Revolution Software tried to mimic Revolution Software circa 1996, but, for the most part, it failed.
As a reminder of the old days of the series, The Serpent’s Curse just about serves its purpose; it sounds the same, works the same and, mostly, looks the same. But as a contender on the modern point-and-click landscape it offers little to drag players away from the new age of superior soirees.
The Serpent's Curse plays like a classic point-and-click adventure, but the story takes too long to get interesting, the characters are quite implausible and the puzzles are hardly a challenge.
This is an great Point and Click Adventure, which is especially made for the Fans of the first and the second Broken Sword games, because the Graphics are really beautifully hand-drawn.
I am really happy, that they made the sequel, and I am really pumped for the second part

I was so happy that one of my favourite point and click franchises was getting a new game, 7 years after the last game was released. I was jumping with excitement. What did I think of it when it came out? It was good..... That's basically all I can say about it. I really wanted to say more about this because I was expecting more, especially after a hugely successful kickstarter campaign making more than double the original target. I loved all of the broken sword games, I even have a disagreement with how people treat the 4th game. But it just seems to be missing the charm the other games had, the same goes for BS4. Whereabouts does this game rank along with the broken sword games, it ranks 4th. It's better than 4 but not as good as 2,3 or 1.
My one gripe I have with this are the puzzles seem way too simple and straight forward. Same thing as the director's cut of the original. They dumb down the puzzles so that people with half a brain could do. You just need to do the basic adventure things in order to do the puzzles. It doesn't really do much to stand out from the crowd. They also have the hint system make a return from 1 and 2, but unlike them, the hint system seems unnecessary. Again because of the simple puzzles.
The artwork is beautiful, as usual for broken sword. But the artwork in this seems better than the other games, especially the dated graphics of 3 and 4. Movements seem crisp and smooth which is a huge improvement of the awkward movements of NPCs in 1 and 2.
Dialogue is basically the same as the previous games so not much to talk about there.
Characters are again your typical broken sword characters. So not much to talk about there.
I think a few of the critics are missing the point of this game as well as other point click games. They're saying that it's timeless. Any point and click game can be timeless as long as it's done right. Point and click games are similar to old Atari 2600 games and nes game. They're so simple by today's standards but if they're done correct they can leave an impact on the gaming community as a whole. Easy to make but hard to master.
I love the idea of resurrecting old franchises as it appeals to all sorts of gamers. Newer gamers grab it because it looks new and interesting and older gamers grab it for the nostalgia. That's why I just love the feeling of playing another Broken Sword game and it was a good experience. Now I just need to wait for the next Monkey Island.

this Game is a fail by all means!!
The Goods:
1- Graphic are nice, well drawn backgrounds and ambience.
The Bads:
1- No Hard Puzzles, all puzzles were easy, even a 8 years kid can solve them. every puzzle or challenge have the solution thrown in the floor in front of your face.
2- Bad Humor. very childish attempts to make some characters funny.
3- Short Story: Come on!! the story is so short and simple go from point A to Point B with no Complicated Plot. every thing was obvious and has no surprizes or twists.
4- this (2) parts thing is so Disturbing, why didn't they make one decent part that we can enjoy playing?
5- Nico is useless: Nice almost had no part in this game you play with nico, but usually she has her own way of solving challenges, now in this part) she is presented as only sexy reporter.
as a Broken sword fan, i am very Disapointed and upset. i waited almost one year for a crappy game.
I think i am gonna buy the next part only because i am a loyal fan of Broken sword hoping it will get better.
Bottom line:
The development team spent time on the graphics more than the story it self, I think they hired a little kid to design the puzzles. Don't buy this Game now, wait until the next episode is released and play them together, This 50% 50% Story thing is disgusting, most of the game play Hours is spent with listening to Childish Dialogues.

The trailer made this look as if it was old school broken sword, but it's not. It's completely banal and does nothing to try and set itself ahead of other titles in the same genre. People will always buy it because it's part of a nostalgic franchise, but it's such a lazy title. Stobart thinks nothing of robbing corpses and stealing items from people just because they happen to accidentally 'drop' them right in front of him. Revolution need to buck their ideas up and come up with something innovative that moves George into the 21st century,
