Well done Activision, after two years of successfully avoiding your yearly copy and paste but somehow simultaneously getting worse and worse I relented and bought this - mainly due to my affection of World at War. Well, it turns out that eight-year-old game is better in every single way. Congrats on the hype train, I bought a ticket - and now, after one day, I'm getting off. Abysmal.

Boring, not so interesting single player, multiplayer is pretty much the same as previous games minus wall running and vice versa. It is technically unremarkable and there are no no destructable environments. There is no reason to buy this game, you can go back to playing world at war.
I am not even touching the subject of heinous business practices.
Call of Duty is over for a long time and these guys are trying to sell its corpse every year.

First and foremost, this game is an utter representation of every single ailment the game industry has suffered over the last decade. Is just blatantly bad, with no light visible in sheer darkness. It plays and look as a game from 2008 at best, blurry textures and almost no destructible environments. From the very first mission its hard not to notice how stingy the game budget was- the Normandy mission had me sent clearing 5 bunkers in a row without capturing the scale and magnitude of this highly important historical spectacle at all. This is not funny Activision, you should be utterly ashamed of releasing this piece of unheard of cash-grab in 2017. This is a theft of massive proportions. They just continue to lure gamers into this festival of utter mediocrity without having any care for the consequences they might face. This has to end.

    To sum things up

    PROS :
Mm, no automatic health regenaration anymore, look for med-kits this time

    CONS:
dismal visual quality ( blurry textures, weak physical model, bad SSAO quality and list can go on)
    extremely repetitive gameplay
    poor enemy AI
    loot-boxes, micro-transactions,
    no improvements whatsoever

Pretty well optimized, decent graphics. At first it seemed they overhauled the audio, and added realistic sfx finally. But then after I took my first shot, I realized nope it was still the same crappy gun sounds. I don't know why its so hard for a AAA studio to add good gun sounds.

The gameplay feels basically identity to every other COD game, including the old original WW2 ones. And that is a major problem. The originals were good....for their time. But its 2017 and games have evolved since then, but not COD. The physics engine is poor, the ragdoll effects are nonexistent. The death animations feel the same as all the other COD games, and it completely kills the game. When you blow up a group of enemies they just slouch over and die in their scripted death animations, instead of going flying or ragdolling. The gunplay is too fast and feels like the character has no "weight" to him. Other than a few scenes, it doesnt feel like you are really in WW2, because so many scenes are just completely unrealistic. Like using sniper rifle to shoot 60 enemies in 5 minutes. Or using a flak gun to shoot down 10 planes in under a minute. Or the endless waves of germans running at you with no intelligence. The explosions are very pixelated.

The voice acting is okay, but some of the lines are cheesy or out of place for the scene. For the amount of money they spent on this game, there really is no excuse for how generic it is. The engine feels massively outdated and arcadey.

This game is not a true return to the glory days of Call of Duty like everyone said it would be. Setting it during WW2 didn't really do much since it feels exactly like the last few CoD games. There is a Destiny style social space that makes no sense. There's no benefit to having this feature apart from showing off to everyone what you get from loot boxes. This allows Activision to bank on other players jealousy and sell even more loot boxes.

The historical inaccuracies are really insulting too. Red dot sights and hollow sights did not exist during WW2, soldiers weren't allowed to wear colorful uniforms yet this game allows you to buy weird skins that dont fit warfare or even the time period, AND WHY ARE THERE BLACK NAZIS? This is insulting to black people. Nazis were openly racist and I wouldn't want to dress up as someone who committed major atrocities against my race.

Swastikas are censored BTW. And you can play as female soldiers just as easily as male ones. SJWs have hit the gaming industry really hard.

Not gonna talk about zombies cause I'm tired of shooting zombies. ENOUGH ZOMBIES.

Campaign has a very good story and characters are interesting, but its too short. 6 hours is too little and this game was clearly developed multiplayer first with single-player as an afterthought. I won't be surprised when the day comes that CoD ships without a single player campaign.

DONT BUY THIS. LETS CHANGE THE INDUSTRY WE LOVE. VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET.

Probably the biggest disappointment to a CoD game I've ever seen. With Infinite warfare, I at least assumed ahead of time is was going to be terrible.. but with CoD WWII, I was actually pulling for them pretty hard for it to be a good game.

Don't buy this game, only buy if you support items behind paywalls and a FPS formula we have seen many times before, although Activision have tried to make a solid campaign i cannot support this micro-shafting business practice we are seeing a lot in gaming lately. So if you do buy this game you are technically an enemy since your money is helping cripple this industry.

The only way these big corporations will understand is if we hit them where it hurts....the wallet.

No more lootboxes, no more micro-shafting in full priced AAA games.

    - A 7 hour campaign that does nothing but frustrate you; there's nothing new here, you've seen this before

CoD: WWII does well in showing off cinematics and has solid and fun gameplay, but stops right there. Because the story is so bland this game could just as well be another plastic looking game where you're fighting some made-up terrorists like in some previous CoD-titles. CoD isn't trying to make you live through WWII, but trying to rob you of not only your money but also a hope of getting closer to WWII. The producers haven't done their research, they didn't care enough about a solid campaign. But hey, there's a nazi zombie mode!

It is heavily scripted. Any CoD game was, but this time they thought the player is unable to do even the simplest things and have to rip him out of immersion every few minutes.

Your squad mates suddenly pop up in front of you, even though you think you lead the attack and then you almost shoot them, because you think they are the enemy, since they logically cant be in front of you.

The sound is so bad that you think your own character screaming is someone else behind you. Or you hear a German talking in front of you, which makes you think theres still one around, but then there actually is no enemy around anymore.

Explosions are bitmaps. Yes, you heard me, bitmaps. The game looks very good otherwise, but they use ugly bitmaps that always look the same for explosions. I tried to find a setting to fix this, but there isnt one. Everything is on max, yet you still see this crap.

You always get ripped out of immersion by cutscenes, which you never know when you control them or dont control them. Plus they add silly quicktime events to them, which is an absolute no-go in this time and age.

This game is very hard to predict either. One time it forces you along on train tracks and you cant do anything else than press one key to go forward, then the other time it suddenly expects logical and independent decisions from you, you dont expect at all and then mess up.

And then theres the microtransactions (ads), massive lack of realism & authenticity and the display of such blatant stereotypes, that the cringe level was just too much, because you think youre playing a character in an extremely low budget movie that has to hold up an ad every few minutes, so that this **** movie is even able to afford this crappy budget.

To put it simple: The game feels worse than a game from the 2000s with the graphics (mainly) from 2015, and sometimes from 1994. Its an insult to gamers in any way. Period. So its no surprise again, that bought people (not gamers) are rating it that highly.

World War II games have a major flaw: we already know what happens. The course of the war is already set, because it’s based in history. While the actual particular events can be made up, we know the general flow of things, and so it is very hard to surprise the audience in any meaningful way. Moreover, the audience rather EXPECTS to see many things out of a World War II game, such as the assault on the beaches of Normandy, or the Battle of the Bulge in a snowy forest around Christmas, so we not only know what is going to happen, we expect to see it.

What this means, however, is that it is very hard to get all that attached to the events – it’s literally history. The characters in the game are all affable enough, but they could be… well, anyone, really. They’re meant to be stand ins for all the men who fought during World War II, and they work in that job, but at the same time, it all just kind of feels like we’re going through the motions at this point.

This is compounded by the fact that World War II needs to play in a certain way to be historically accurate, which means that the weapons we use are not going to be particularly exciting or novel. They are a little bit clunkier than modern day FPS weapons by intent, and that’s fine, but the end result is that we’re playing a FPS using rather standard weapons in a standard war that cannot surprise us in any way.

And for some reason, this game contains collectibles, which, if you go searching for them, interrupt the gameplay for no good reason. Why are these in a game like this? The heroic actions at least made sense – saving someone or accepting someone’s surrender seems like reasonable optional things that slot nicely into the core gameplay – but searching for random items in levels is just not fun in a game like this.

The net result of all of this is a game that is like a bowl of oatmeal – it’s fine, there’s nothing WRONG with oatmeal, but we know exactly what we’re getting, and sadly, there’s no cinnamon in sight to spice it up, so it’s a bit bland and watery.

So it is with this game. The controls are a fine example of modern FPS design, running around, sliding, crouching or going prone, walking up behind enemies for stealth kills, climbing up waist-high walls by jumping at them – but there’s nothing added here to spice things up. The story has only one possible way it can go, the particulars aren’t strong enough to really make me care about the characters (though at least I can remember their personalities), and the gameplay is bog standard.

It’s kind of impossible to recommend something like this, but it was not bad to go through. It was just kind of forgettable.

As for the multiplayer… honestly, I thought it was pretty bad. I’ve never really liked super low time to kill, and the multiplayer has that in spades. I actually did surprisingly well in the small amount of it I played – I saw a lot of other new players, probably because of the Humble Monthly – but at the same time, it never really engaged me all that much. Getting shot at kills you almost faster than you can react a great deal of the time, and the same applies to shooting at enemies, and the characters are all pretty generic, without anything to spice them up or make them all that interesting or distinctive. It is what it is.

The zombies was honestly even worse. It’s amazing to me how, after Left 4 Dead did coop zombies so well, companies continue to make games that are vastly worse. This is just a horde shooting coop multiplayer mode with a single map (well, unless you fork over more money for more maps) with a series of things you need to do on it which aren’t explained very well. It was just kind of a mess to play, and I did not have a lot of fun playing it. The gameplay was only alright and the confusion about what I was supposed to do made it more annoying than anything else.

For a game with such nice graphics, it felt strangely unambitious. Black Ops 3 at least tried to do some interesting things; this just kind of felt like the most generic shooter possible. It wasn’t bad, but it never rose to the level of good. It was just kind of bland.

I don't review games ever, but this game is such an utterly infuriating steaming pile that I couldn't not review this thing. Where to start? I guess the short list of pros.

    - The player card customization options and emotes give the game just a bit of personality.
    - It looks decent.
    - The quartermaster missions add more of a reason to keep playing
    - The zombies is fun for a few playthroughs if you have friends
    - Gun game is pretty fun
    - It was nice to see them bring back War, which was introduced in WaW, although it's not worth playing for reasons stated later.
    - I kinda like what they were doing with divisions, but they're almost pointless and the system needs a major overhaul.
    - It's fun to get in a custom game with friends and do stupid modes like shovels only
    The cons

    - This game still has that basic CoD formula that hasn't had any major changes since WaW. It's painfully outdated and CoD will need to really pull something crazy if they want the series to have a future.
    - While the game does look good, it goes for a generic "look realistic" art style that takes no creativity, and is therefore lifeless and void of almost any personality.
    - The map balancing is completely broken to the point that is needs to be scrapped to be redeemed. The spawnpoints for every base game map is the same layout: a small piece of cover with three chokepoints, a left mid and right. If you can wipe the other team and get to their spawn at the beginning of the match, you have won the match. The enemy team will be cowering behind their spawn cover because they can't move anywhere because your team already has peak advantage on them and unless they have incredible aim will get outgunned. Just run back and forth, and you win. If somehow you get two teams who suck equally, this won't happen. But it's in situations like these that the poorly designed map flow is highlighted the most, as spawns seem to happen randomly, making team coordination of any kind almost impossible. The map flow is so broken that I almost think that Treyarch were going for a spawn trap based game. This makes any team based mode with respawn essentially unplayable. So you should just stick to FFA and S&D right? Then you will see the...
    - Horrible gun balancing. Each class of weapon should have their own strong points and weak points that make them balanced, SMGs having short to mid range low time to kill, LMGs providing long range automatic fire, the assault rifles being a balance, and the shotgun and sniper having extreme short and long range capabilities, respectively. The main problem with the gun balancing here is the LMGs. They combine below AR recoil, above AR damage and SMG time to kill. They render the ARs and SMGs existences pointless. Shotguns in games like these are notorious for being hard to balance and therefore being absurdly OP. In WWII, they are almost useless. The range on these things is, no exaggeration, no more than a 10 foot one shot kill. Unless you're a hyper cautious building lurker, you won't have any success with these. The snipers are the only guns in this game that were well balanced, although it's really difficult to mess up sniper balancing. In short, this game needs a complete balance overhaul to work at all.
    - The cashgrab DLCs. Both of the DLCs as of writing this (Resistance and War Machine) add 3 new maps, a new war map and a zombies map. Keep in mind this game has 9, count them 9, base game multiplayer maps. Compare this to MW3's 16 base game maps or BO2's 14. Which means after you pay 60 dollars for base game and 30 dollars in DLC, only then do you get up to the content that previous installments of the game had. It baffles me that they can get away with this. As of the last time I checked, on PC you could only buy the 60 dollar season pass for some reason, and it was the only platform that they did this to. As if PC CoD wasn't dead enough as it is.
    - I don't own any of the DLCs, but from what I've heard the multiplayer maps vary widely in terms of quality and the zombies maps are garbage.
    - I don't like the menu system at all, it's a pain to navigate.
In conclusion, this game is an irredeemable, pathetically lazy excuse for an AAA game that would be ridiculed if it was released by anyone else under any other name. You could spend your 60 dollars on a myriad on compelling, creative indie games that aren't devoid of any life or personality like this worthless garbage heap of a game.

For example all these scripted scenes with slo-mo and pistol. One time thru the game - it`s good, it`s normal, two times - not so good, three times - becomes bothersome. Flak missions looks so silly - one man shoot out 15-20 planes, am i playing Just Cause and etc. or WW2 historical game? And i even cant burn my character in bonfire in the Epilogue mission. My main problem with this supposed next generation of maps is that they are no different than last gen, where is the dynamic settings? why cant there be a physical changes to the map randomly i.e. a battle on a sinking battleship or a war around you with buildings exploding? its just lazy and derriviative but compared to what Activision charges for season pass / map packs its just insulting!

Loot crates are obviously there, disgusting to have them opening on normandy batlefield in your "social area" and visable to all, there really isnt an "enough money earned here" is there!

Overall I feel more down on the franchise now than ever before, it needs to go away and have a high level rethink about COD's future as come next year, COD will not be a pre order or even a day one purchase for me!

The game has a decent campaign, but that's where it stops at delivering anything good. The multiplayer is just horribly frustrating. Average scores for players are in the negative. The hit detection is what bothers me the most. Nothing like unloading half a magazine into an opposing player only for them to shoot you and kill you like you were shooting blanks. The kill cam shows most your hits that you thought were hitting...weren't there...which tells you exactly that the netcode is not up to par. Just another re-skinned COD game, save your money. Better yet, if you must have it, get it on the secondary market to put a ding in Activision/Sledgehammer's profit margins. I only wish I could get a refund, as I stupidly purchased the digital download collector's edition. Waste of $100 that evidently can't be refunded. At least Gamestop would give me about 50% of the game's value back. I just love how the official reviews are still beaming, except that now it's down to 75 on metacritic. Heed my warning...save your money, Activision and Sledgehammer games have failed the casual gamer. I'm sure the MLG, Monster Chugging Fan Boys will still love this game because it's the same twitchy trash that;s been re-skinned every year. This Call Of Duty is a mockery to the intelligence, it can have in some parts good graphics and few good moments that please those who do not ask much for a game. However, they spoil a very important historical fact by putting boxes of micropayments. Eliminate a moment that should be epic for putting in the face of the player his bad practice of selling items that help you, but you lose the immersive aspect. Despite having current graphics it looks as if it were for children. Then you realize that they underestimate you as a player, regardless of whether you have already played other Call Of Duty's. PROS.
    -Great graphics.
-Fantastic atmosphere it like being in the battlefield it's alive.
    -Medical kits.
    -Voice acting.
    -PC Optimized.
    CONS.
-The Singelplayer is like 4h max.
-It mostly car chase and holding possession and shooting. (Like a mobile game)
-Too much of a cinematic play.
-Only 6 chapters that feels rushed and very short.
    -Nothing special about the story.

I still think infinite Warfare the worst COD still and this takes the second place. If only it was longer and had gameplay like the old ones this would been amazing. Activiton should find itself another series or just quit gaming! Its embarrassing really.

The campaign is just some disgusting jewish propaganda where goy abandons his family to save jewish ubermensch. Who cares about gentile and his wife and a child, come back to the front and save a jew! (btw not a spoiler, it was already revealed in story trailer that jew was captured)

The campaign is just some disgusting jewish propaganda where goy abandons his family to save jewish ubermensch. Who cares about gentile and his wife and a child, come back to the front and save a jew! (btw not a spoiler, it was already revealed in story trailer that jew was captured)

Also it doesn't make any sense how you're fighting Germans for the whole game only to get dissatisfying ending which feels like some holocaust industry propaganda.

Gentile's life is not important, his family is not important, defeating Germans is not that important anymore, saving life of a jew is the only important thing. Ending completely ruined the campaign for me which seemed fine for the most part (if you ignore the chaotic fights where enemies are shooting you from random directions and you never know which are your allies and which are enemies, scripting is really messed up like in all COD campaigns).

The multiplayer is OK (better than futuristic fantasy nonsense of IW and BO3), but game has major problems with loading times, maps, headquarters, menus, all load very long (despite my SSD barely doing any work) and all resources are loaded gradually (for example, you join the game and for like 30 seconds you spectate someone running around without gun model, once the model loads you can finally choose your class and join the fight - you won't be able to join the combat until all game models load, which means you will miss first round of S&D).

Also everything revolves around lootboxes which are shoved in front of your face all the time. The progression system is overcomplicated and forces you to grind hard. Some weapons like MG42 or MP40 are locked until you prestige your division, which takes quite a lot of time, some weapons - Sten, Gewerh 43 - are available during events only - like the current winter event - and require 50 wins to unlock them (btw once the winter event ends you won't be able to unlock those weapons anymore which is weird, because such iconic gun as Sten should be available by default in WW2 game).

There is no real anti cheat, so you might see lots of cheater in your games (I might be lucky or it's because I play late at night mostly, but I rarely see them, but there's plenty of posts about cheaters in Steam COD WW2 forums).

Game has horrible lag compensation (as most previous CODs) and very often you are in games where you feel like you can't shoot anyone and some players seem invincible (your shots simply don't register on them, maybe it's the reason people think there's so many cheaters). This is the big issue with COD games for me.

There is not enough maps in base game, only 9 normal maps and 3 war maps. War is a new mode where you advance through the map by doing different objectives (escort the tanks, steal the fuel, pass the bridge etc.). It's fine, but feels unfinished (for example there's no information who actually won at the end - you win one round (attack), enemy wins the second round (defend) and that's all, you have to figure out yourself who did better). It's hard to say whether those war maps are balanced as the teams are totally random and you don't really know the skill of your teammates and enemies, some games are too easy, some are impossibly hard. There's a hardcore grenade spam happening and it's hard to dodge those grenades as you have many chokepoints on maps. It would probably be better for the game if we just had more regular maps instead of the war mode.

Overall it's a decent time waster if you like COD games, but prepare for poor optimization, lots of bugs with quests and loadouts (my uniforms and faces like to switch by itself), connection issues (no proper servers and dreadful lag compensation). Don't buy Season Pass, because game is already quite dead (less than 20k players peak, in EU at night I can't find games in less popular modes like Kill Confirmed or Gridiron).

Not based on WWII but just another franchise on call of duty. Why won't this die already? Like there are different types of call of duty summary stories out there and they can't just let this die and start a new original game but no they have to create from scratch not based on story line. Only the fans rate this 10 because they're call of duty fans and that's their childhood.

You know i've been in the Marketing industry for over 16 years and it still rings true to this day that Gamers are the easiest to influence into buying crap and the Publishers know this only too well.

They used a tragic event to sell a game and most millenials cannot even tell the difference between an Iron Cross and a Swastika let alone the history behind either one so what does it mattter?

The fact you even bought into this pile of trash in the first place blows the "Fool me once" line out of the water because with gamers were are onto "Fool me 17 times..." and still have no end in sight.

I am not judging this game only because it has COD brand on it, by any means no. This game is one of the worst PC games in 2017 because it's not a game-only anymore. It's half a movie right now. And this have been happening since Black Ops 1. It was not so terribly cutscenes-based "game" as it is now, but it started at that point. And what we have now? So you get the objective, you go, do some shooting, throw grenades, boom - movie (infinte amount of cutscenes).

And the quotes in those cutscenes...my god...they are terrible. Seriously, cutscenes like those exist only in bad war movies - "you're long way from texas boy".....

Multiplayer is also nothing new - boring, monotonous, repetitive stuff, as every year.

Reason why I'm giving this game 3 out of 10 is because graphics are kinda good actually (although I believe BF 1 still looks better), and visual effects. On big screen or TV effects looks really well. Other than that COD WW2 is a terrible product with boring story, stupid AI, uninteresting characters, lack of variety...the list could go on and on.

Yes, things are out of place (obvious SJW crap) but if you put that all aside, the multiplayer that this installation of CoD offers is actually some of the best it’s been in a while. Now that’s not to say it’s perfect, because it isn’t. Just another standard run of the mill CoD game, but the way it’s presented to you is a lot more exciting. I really do enjoy the social hub and the different objectives you can pick up and complete. Not going to sugar coat it though, those features feel sort of like a rip off of Destiny 1. To keep this review short I’ll sum up by saying that CoD WW2 is not as amazing as intended, but still one of the best “new” CoD multiplayer experiences you’re going to get on PC (this is based on my experience which has thankfully been free of performance issues though). I do however advise against buying it solely for the multiplayer. That price point is nowhere near fair. As for the campaign, I cannot say.

Works if you just want to come in, finish an operation and get your fix. Guns feel good and head shots are satisfying.

Then there are these tank tasks where you are expected to sneak behind a tank and blow it up. Extremely boring. I guess its because the regular push and shoot gets old, but eh, it's what I'm here for.

As for the story, forgettable. Found myself not caring for the progression of the characters at all. No NPC held any weight through out the missions and they all seemed disposable. That is until the last 3 missions where things really picked up and climaxed to a great ending. Liked it more than I thought I would.

Turned out to be one of my favorite COD campaigns.

-overwhelmingly linear for a 2017 singleplayer experience
-game pacing is just dialled to constant shooteybang with barely a rest for the senses and so missions that cover months of story are played over the few hours of gameplay. What would it have been like to watch your friends heal up in the medical camp? Or go through training bootcamp? Or wave goodbye to your loved ones as you step on the boat to go to war with all that hope? Not knowing the hell that awaited you... Feels like a missed opportunity to step aside from the formula.

Another rip-roaring COD for 3rd nov release date on the nose.... Its activisions 'big mac with fries' and it really is the same every time. Don't get me wrong I love a big mac and fries but with DICE and many others breaking free of their older formulas and mixing things up gourmet stylee for gaming in 2017, I was really hoping Sledgehammer would bring something more unique than 'slightly more pepper'. Like a whole new recipe of different. But activision clearly chose to cash in. So for more classic COD with a fancy new-old WW2skin I give 6/10. I love playing this game but expected/hoped for more evolution. (singleplayer campaign review)

Well, although the campaign is much better than the last three entries (BO3, AW, and IW). There are mix of tank section, aviation battle, espionage, and stealth. However, tank and aviation battle especially sucks, because even though they are fun it only lasts about 15-20 min as part of a mission, and NOT as a whole mission. Espionage while entertaining, it's easy enough for anyone with basic stealth instincts can plow through. And Stealth.....oh my god, it sucks. There is so much stealth in this game. You'd think that would be nice taking a break from full frontal combat, but these stealth sections are annoyingly paced. I was expecting a brother-in-arms type of bonding with my npc comrades, but that never happened.

Multiplayer is also a lot better, but still kinda the same. We finally don't have jet-packs and futuristic abilities, so the gameplay is much more grounded (literally). It's still only fun when you are the one kicking asses, but you'll still be plagued with cheap shots, 6-year olds who apparently did your mother, and those who are better than you. Oh and lootboxes, while unnecessary, shows the greedy corperate bs side of Activision in a full force.

If you are looking to get COD, WWII is the game I'd recommend(sorta). The game looks great, campaign has its moments, and multiplayer as always needs some serious balancing.

Great Campaign, mess of an online
Call of Duty WWII comes from the sledgehammer studio that made advanced warfare and modern warfare 3…
This game features a 5 and a half hour long campaign, a Nazi zombies mode and of course an online competitive mode
The star of this game is hands down the campaign..
Here you play as Daniels, a member of the United States army during World War II…
You occasionally play as a few surprise characters to infiltrate or take control of a tank for example...
But the games campaign mostly focuses on him…
And the story here is so personal, that for the first time in call of duty’s history I felt this soldier and his story wasn’t throw away…
Easily my favorite campaign in the entire call of duty series…
These characters are so fleshed out, all having their own personalities to them... it feels like an interactive movie..
You have a girl waiting for you to get home, and you feel her pulling you through the entire way as you feel immersed in the battleground of world war 2
Unique to this campaign is that you have to manage your health…
It’s definitely takes some time getting used to patching yourself up rather than taking cover and waiting for your health to regenerate..
But this leaves you being more cautious and aware of cover…
This health management is made less of a nuisance thanks to your squad members... stopping this from feeling like a survival game…
depending on the mission you’re on you’ll have different squad mates with a cool down meter to give you a med pack or ammo for example.. Mark enemies in the field…
Again immersing me into the game, caring about my position and where my squad mates are…
There aren’t really those epic moments you’d expect from a call of duty campaign... as this one feels more grounded in reality…
But there is plenty of variety as you’ll be in the trenches, in a tank, in a plane, you’ll go undercover as a Nazi.. There are car chases...
Making this campaign hard to step away from…
but once your time in the campaign is over its back to what you’re used to from call of duty// zombies, multiplayer, and regenerating health…
The zombies mode this time is all about Nazi tech, you’re killing zombies for points to buy new weapons, armor, upgrades, and unlocking gates and fulfilling objectives, not so much boarding up windows this time around…
And then there’s the online multiplayer which currently during launch weekend is a complete mess…
The game will get stuck on a load screen… there are server issues that force you to reset your router to fix.. End game results freeze on screen not giving any indication anything is happening... finding a match is a chore…
once you do finally get a match you’re thrown into your typical call of duty modes around some pretty weak maps…
probably my least favorite maps in the game’s history…
And since this is a world war 2 game the weapon variety doesn’t feel that present …
you start choosing your infantry out of 5 choices based on your play style and working on leveling them up to unlock their unique perks…
making matches and players more unpredictable…
once you choose your infantry you’re given that classes weapon, though you aren’t stuck with it as you can unlock any gun with rank tokens…
And then you take your favorite gun out into the call of duty world and level it up to unlock attachments for it…
    Pretty typical stuff
There are also daily challenges for you to do to unlock items like supply drops or earn currency to buy cards in game and unlock a special weapon or cosmetic item to give you an xp bonus or a one hit kill bonus in zombies…
giving players something to work towards and play for online..
It could be just me... but the maps, modes, and variety of weapons just couldn’t hook me…
And the games awful server issues at launch didn’t help this...
That being said... this game is worth picking up on its own for its campaign...
I give Call of Duty WWII
    an 8/10

I couldn't put less points, but wanted. This game has amazing graphics, gameplay is a step back. But Sledgehammer Games was able to show a real war. It showed the war without embellishment, real, brutal war. We have forgotten what it is. We used fun to kill enemies in video games without hesitation. After CALL OF DUTY: WWII start to appreciate the peaceful times in which we live.

After CALL OF DUTY: WWII start to appreciate the peaceful times in which we live.

The story tells the usual story of a military soldier. Together with brothers in arms wades through a real hell. We've seen similar stories in games, the war has not been shown so realistically. Basically, this effect causes dismemberment. Very often we will see people without body parts, burning people and the atrocities of the Nazis.

The plot is simple, but you believe in this war, believe what is happening on the screen. All the characters have their own character, everyone has their demons. It is interesting to observe the drama of the characters.

The gameplay is now in spirit first every part OF CALL OF DUTY. Because of this the gameplay has become more boring. You sit behind cover and aims at enemies. Diversity is not. But there is one good innovation. The developers decided to implement in a single company element of teamwork. If we need supplies, first aid kit or swegene about the enemy - we are asking comrades. This is an interesting thing. and Yes, now health itself is not restored - it is necessary to look for kits. Here you don't feel like a super soldier ready to kill everyone, you could die at any moment.

Call of Duty: WWII is a game about realistic warfare. A single company is not very long, but no time to get bored. It's not the best Call of Duty, gameplay and artistic design can to lose IW, but nevertheless it was nice to return to the battlefields of WWII.

P.S. The PC version suffers from bad optimization. Change already the engine! You can not get it to properly optimize! On PC to buy the game just is not necessary.

I am not a fan of COD, well except 1 and 2 parts. It is world classics. The last years 5 after Black Ops 2 a series constantly degraded, well except Black Ops 3. Well just sound shooter about World War II. Story about one group. Well registered characters and the given history (at such level only Black Ops has been worked out). Yes it is the same shooting gallery as before, but now everything is fascinating, missions on the equipment within the concept of COD are perfectly made. CGI rollers are perfectly made. Not small money is invested in them, it is visible that Activision has enclosed in which eyelids money in the product. Graphics perfectly looks only in general if not to peer into details. And so, it is the level 2013/2014 of years. In general it is one of the best shooters of 2017, and he looks better than new Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. What is very laudable)
PS. The multiplayer both was boring and backward and remained it. It is a pity that in him nothing changes from year to year. And the most important - most of people hates new COD not because it so but because it is already tradition.

I do not know how about the whole game, but in the single player everything becomes clear from the very beginning. In the first level, you are shown how the developers **** on the players. Run from the fence to the fence, die Hundred times and it's unclear what to do. At this point, I deleted the game. The good did not buy this ****

Ignore the haters as they will give any Call of Duty game a zero before they've even played it. While there has been no major upheaval of the basic COD formula, it still delivers a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I especially appreciate the slower pace of the single player campaign and the fact that is significantly less forgiving then recent iterations of the series. No more ducking behind a wall for 5 seconds and miraculously regenerating all of your lost health. Now you must find health packs a use them wisely. I also enjoy the squad member abilities that you can call on from time to time. It's a small thing, but it adds to the overall sense of you being part of a team as opposed to being a one-man army. Multiplayer and zombies return pretty much intact though much has been made of loot boxes in multiplayer. While one may question the motives of Activision behind their inclusion, as a player I freely ignore and am personally not bothered by them while I am in the game. That said, I am not of fan of micro-transactions and it is not something I am looking for in my games.

If you've stuck with and enjoyed the COD series up to this point, then I promise you will enjoy COD WW2 as well. Ignore the hate and decide for yourselves.

Calling this a subpar experience is an understatement. This title does not deliver on any fronts (pun intended):

SP: 0/10 (as expected with all CODs) MP: 1/10 (worse than the usual 4-5/10 in the past) This does not offer anything remotely enjoying in terms of GP, immersion or realism. This is a blatant racist game and an insult to all the nations who were involved in ww2. Avoid

Even though story is filled with cliché, and overall very predictable it was one of the best single-player experiences in the franchise.

First CoD title i have played in a long while really. Gets a 7 from me. The SP campaign is OK and passable but the story is a wash.

The MP is quite in in spades, i more or less only play War since you can do quite well in that mode since kills aint the main objective. But it need more maps like now. Also a better matchmaking would be good too so that people on the same rank or close to

Also a better matchmaking would be good too so that people on the same rank or close to it would be matched together. Usually Prestige+ players have put alot of hours into it and are alot more experienced so why would they be matched against non prestige players..??

The Zombie mode is the first time i have played it, i know right? But it was very fun to complete the last reich even though the last boss is **** but up to that point it's fun. Same thing there it need more maps since spamming the same one aint fun and the house map sucks.

They tried to keep up with Battlefield 1, they failed miserably. We don't need another CoD for the next 20 years, i'm sure of that.

Single player is so awesome. Other shooters should learn from cod ww2 about storytelling and make action scenes. I would like to see the same things I see in Battlefront 2

Nothing new here compared to last cod installement, except of course WWII background. Graphics are ok, especially character models. But they should add more complex destruction model, better AI etc. Campaign is very short and you will not feel the scale of the biggest war in history of the world. It just feels like 50% of just one american centred chapter of the whole story. Plot isNothing new here compared to last cod installement, except of course WWII background. The new Call of Duty is like a shopping list, in which the devs list one second-rate cliché after another. It's not always for the sake of it, but it's already making the WWII unique that everybody should play. [Issue#280]

A magnificent, but also a sympathetic, unpretentious return to the roots of the series. Yet the campaign is short-lived, and your next experience depends on how much you enjoy the multiplayer and/or shooting Nazi zombies.
