That would be at the top of my list of criticisms for this potentially solid game. The game actually has some good features, an easy to use user interface, an option to create a friends list, including a chat feature, and a game format that is fun and interactive. Unfortunately this is undermined by regular game crashes, (tonight my game has crashed 5 times, which is a bit high, but not uncommon) an un-tiered playing system where novice players, who tend to quit games frequently, place on harbor nearest you just to block you, or other frustrating immature actions, are paired with more experienced players in a free-for-all format, and that the game is designed to push you towards buying their content, but then has very little content to purchase. There's also the unconfirmed open secrets with the Pc version- Novice players numbers seem to roll relentlessly regardless if they play on the worst numbers possible, if you get an early lead your numbers tend to stop rolling until the other players have caught up, after reaching level 20, (the max level in the game), your wins appear to plummet, possibly because of the before mentioned super-charged novice rolls. The game engine appears to try to compensate for the lack of player tiers by giving new players an advantage, while ending that advantage once you have reached max level. In my experience anyway, (Current ELO 1074, 127 wins). It's the most frustrating to get a nice 6/8 9/5 placement, only to have the level 3 who place on 2/12/3 and a 4 harbor have their numbers roll as though they were anointed by the hand of Gandalf himself. If the creators of Catan Universe would either fix the regular crashes or create a tiered system for players this game would be instantly and vastly improved, and I would give it a higher score.… Expand
