Catherine's core themes those of free will, of the delicate nature of relationships and the choices we make within them, marry perfectly with the intense, terrorfilled gameplay that serves to accurately reflect Vincent's growing sense of anxiety. It is an experience wholly unlike any to come before it, and is certain to leave gamers talking and thinking about Vincent's tribulations long after the credits have rolled. Expand

Catherine Classic is a good choice to review the fantastic journey of love, madness and dreams, which happened 8 years ago, before Catherine Full Body's releasing.

The mixture of dialogue adventure, mystery thriller and challenging puzzler didn’t lose a beat. Seven years after its console premiere this still is a captivating experience.

Catherine is a genuinely funny, fun and altogether unique experience, even now. It merges brilliantly challenging puzzle gameplay with an Animé adult-romance story that is as equally compelling as it is entertaining. It features interesting and deeply flawed characters, particularly the protagonist whose emotions directly affect the challenges he'll face. All of this contained within a game that has aged particularly well due to the colourful and Animé-style design.

Catherine is a fantastic game, and it being on more platforms is great news, even if it doesn’t offer any new content or relevant new features.

As a conclusion to this improved edition, Catherine: Classic brings us back a title that has already gone through the consoles of two generations. And it does not have much more improvement than seen in previous editions, apart from some graphic improvement. Still, it's still a very good game, complete, with replayability and hours. It becomes heavy in some places, because the story slows down and does not advance as fast as we would like, making the experience longer than we would expect.

The journey to finding out what it means to you is certainly one worth taking.

Catherine is a fascinating experiment, but it’s rather uneven and has not aged well.

I always wanted to play it on PS3 all those years ago but never got around to picking it up.

I must say this game was pretty good! The gameplay was fun, invigorating, and challenging. It involved creating a pathway to the end of a high tower you build out of blocks by pulling them among other things. I love the pure freedom you have to shape Vincent's character and shape how the story goes. It's one of the better story games I've played in Video Game history really. I ended up having Vincent marry Katherine and seeing Katherine cry in the True Lover ending broke my heart.

I really like the idea of the nightmares and how they can kill you in real life and no one in the real world can explain the deaths. It reminds me a lot of nightmare on elm street. Seeing Vincent go from meek to badass was great and was what I wanted for Vincent.

Another thing I loved was you get to see what other first time players answered after each floor.

Overall, if you like story-driven games, you should definitely play this game at least once.
