AWE is short for Altered World Event, which occur when paranatural forces breach our world. Sometimes, AWEs are minor and go unnoticed. However, sometimes AWEs cause catastrophic events. Historically, the Investigations Sector was where the Federal Bureau of Control's dangerous work of searching for AWE cases was coordinated from, and where evidence was stored until things went horribly, horribly wrong, and the sector was sealed off years ago.

Director Jesse Faden has to enter the sector to chase down a mysterious being that's been stalking this long-abandoned area for years. In order to reclaim the Investigations Sector from the clutches of this creature of darkness, Jesse will need to explore the numerous Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls.

AWE is absolutely a worthwhile continuation of the Control experience. It introduces delightful new gameplay conceits and iterates on them masterfully within such a brief time frame. The story might not appeal to everyone but everything else that's worth loving about Control can be found here. Anyone who enjoyed the base Control experience shouldn't hesitate to give AWE a whirl.

AWE replicated that feeling. Remedy continues to tell unique and extremely interesting stories, and in relation to how AWE concludes and what that means for the future of the Remedy Connected Universe, is just so damn exciting.

Control: AWE not only continues the story of the tormented writer Alan Wake, but find a way to create a solid connection between different worlds of different games. The future of Remedy lies here.

AWE has problems to separate itself from the main game in almost every aspect. The connections to Alan Wake are interesting, but rather an appetizer. ‘The Foundation’ is the better expansion.

Despite some flaws, AWE is a very good expansion that brings Alan Wake into Remedy's shared universe and teases exciting things for the future.

Alan Wake makes his official debut in Control in full force, delivering a very large helping of lore and storytelling that goes down great with the overall game experience. If only he had a brought a small side of new gameplay mechanics as well, because the formula remains pretty much the same.

AWE had a lot of potential and I'm sad to say that it's mostly wasted here. Most of what it offers is exactly the same as what players have experienced before and I found the new stuff to be equal parts obnoxious and tedious.

Basically, this is still Control with large empty corridors with the same enemies, and only a few moments/situations associated with the AW theme. However, I still liked it very much. The DLC gives a whole separate floor-location, a couple of new resources and one new weapon, and each skirmish with darkness is interesting for its game-play(since Jesse does not have skills against darkness, you need to interact with the environment in different ways to go through each such skirmish). I cannot give a high rating, as I expected more, but not just small pieces associated with "Alan's Darkness", but I will not give a low rating either, since it was done with high quality and interesting. Not bad DLC for the very nice game, but it could be better. I definitely enjoyed it, like in the main game. Nevertheless, there's not enoughNot bad DLC for the very nice game, but it could be better. I definitely enjoyed it, like in the main game. Nevertheless, there's not enough some new.

And some for a note, post-release content doesn't deserve called expansion. It's regular DLCs, not more. The large gaps between the launchers days does not give the whole picture. Hopefully, the studio does a better this job next time.

(писатель). Около 3 часа или больше потратил на последнего босса и хочу сказать что это был самый сложный босс из игры. Авторы оставили удел на будущее и теперь ждем возврашение Алана. Оценка 7 баллов из десяти, думаю достойная.

I feel very disappointed because this DLC absolutely breaks down an immersion built by the original game.

After teasing Alan Wake for the last year, they give us a DLC with 10% Alan Wake and 90% rehashed mechanics from the vanilla game. The vast majority of Alan Wake's involvement is as a disembodied voice. A waste of money for Alan Wake fans. Expand
