Desperately trying to escape and survive, players will experience unnatural, unnerving and decidedly uncensored horrors through the eyes and ears -- of these frightened teenaged victims. Detailed 2D sprite animations and art stills show the bloody and unsettling fates that await those who enter, and full Japanese-language voice-acting combines with 3D audio support to create a simulated surround sound experience when playing with headphones, offering players a delightfully uncomfortable level of immersion. Corpse Party is a pretty good mix of a visual novel and survival-horror games. While the gameplay itself can get a little dull at times as you wander the halls of the school and try to interact with just about everything, the story is rather enjoyable and unique. Wear some headphones and turn out the lights to complete the experience.

In the end, Corpse Party is an enjoyable, well thought out and engaging experience. It does take on a bit of a slower pace but if you are a fan of Visual Novels, then this will be perfect for you.

Don’t skip the dialogue, investigate everything properly, and experience Corpse Party in its full glory.

Corpse Party is a good survival horror game with some flaw.

I like Corpse Party a lot, just not as a game. Its strong storyline and polished aesthetics would have made it a great visual novel, but the clunky gameplay drags it down from being great to just good. Gameplay is the be all and end all of any game that isn't a visual novel/graphic adventure after all, and in that regard, Corpse Party is a disappointing experience.

Version favoritism aside, Corpse Party does a good enough job with the technology to deliver an interesting and thoroughly Japanese story of tragedy, murder, and the paranormal.

Corpse Party is a faithful port of the original PC version, but that's not enough when the PSP remake added so much more to the experience. The extra chapters are a nice addition, though, and make it a decent buy for diehard Corpse Party fans. Just don't expect to be scared.

Amazing quality. A lot of thought was put into keeping as close to the original intent as possible. Particularly impressed by the realisticAmazing quality. A lot of thought was put into keeping as close to the original intent as possible. Particularly impressed by the realistic audio effects, soundtrack and narrative. Worth a purchase if you're not a fan of particularly gory horror games. Definitely psychologically harrowing though, even without as much of the gore as the original. Expand
