Crash 4 is an excellent purchase for all those PC players who really want to put themselves to the test with a tough-as-nails platformer. Toys for Bob proved once again to be a solid fit for the franchise, expertly following in the tracks of Naughty Dog while adding their own to the mix. Definitely give it a chance, and don’t be discouraged by its difficulty – we’ve all been through it.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is the perfect sequel: on the one hand the game winks to the classic trilogy, on the other hand introduces interesting new features in terms of gameplay and structure.

From the gameplay to the story, the heart and soul of Crash Bandicoot is here, and still as exciting as ever. It’s amazing that a series that has been so beloved by fans, and has spawned countless spin-offs - some great, and some not so much - has managed to return without feeling any different. It’s like the past 20 years has been one long fever dream for Crash, and he’s now awoken from a deep slumber for one last triumphant return.

As for anti-aliasing, it can be pushed up to x8. Both the Xbox controller and the DualShock 4 are obviously known to help Crash leap where it matters. No technical problem to report, PC gamers will have on March 26 a nice version of Crash Bandicoot 4 capable of running at 4K / 60fps.

A great game, even if it's horribly frustrating a lot of the time. While it's a wonderful follow-up to a classic series, this port makes it a bit of a tougher sell than other versions of the game.

Crash 4 is the kind of retro throwback that actually earns its spot as a successor to the original trilogy. There’s the occasional bandicoot stumble, but it's a responsive, precise platformer that looks as good as it plays.

Crash Bandicoot hasn't changed much, and that's - mostly - a good thing. Some more substantial additions would be more than welcome, as the new things on offer feel underused here - like the mask abilities and the extra playable character, which can only be used in very specific spots and/or levels. The replay value is once again very high, first due to the many collectables, and, second, because of the "your skill is the limit" Time Trial mode. As expected, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time remains as challenging as its older siblings. Mostly because this is…well, Crash Bandicoot, but sadly this also happens because of the much worse perspectives. Fixable by a patch? Hopefully, yes, as it lowers the fun factor quite a bit.

Some of the mechanics are pretty buggy and jittery (gravity one especially) which can make precise platforming very difficult. At the start you won't feel it as bad but by the end world it's literally hell and can take you a whole lot of time and lives to finish it. Most of the boss fights were fun and I did like that they spiced up things a bit with the new masks and characters, made the game pretty fresh. Story wise there is really not anything that interesting , its crash you don't play it for the story you play it for the game play and to see what your favorite characters are doing. Good sequel but not one of the best. Expand

The new Masks, the over use of boxes, the gems. just... everything about this game is frustrating. There is too many boxes hidden in every level. What makes it worse is every level is double the size of the first three crash games. Also theirs no ultra wide support and to make it worse the drm, which everyone else is talking about is pretty stupid on a single player game. Though Activation are lucky, if this game was on steam i would have gotten a refund. Expand

I'm writing this review mainly as a warning to parents who might want to buy the game for their children. Don't do this if you do not want toI'm writing this review mainly as a warning to parents who might want to buy the game for their children. Don't do this if you do not want to harm the child. This game is the opposite of what it looks like on the surface - a nice cheerful fun. It's actually an evil frustration simulator.
I've played a number of difficult games, but never anything like Crash Bandicoot 4. If I managed to accidentally pass a level after many attempts, it was only through sheer luck, so I didn't even feel any satisfaction.
The original Crash games were very difficult, but still playable for a normal person. This one is only for speedrunners and similar hardcore gamers. Unfortunately, if the developers made the game just a little bit accessible, there would be hateful comments from this type of people everywhere. So in fear of them, the developers have made them practically the only target category of their game.
The game might have deserved an extra star for its nice graphics, but because it's so awful in gameplay, I have to give it the lowest score.
