I've really enjoyed every minute I've spent with Dirt Rally 2.0, just as I did with 1.0 before it. The handling is gorgeous, the routes are truly beautiful to look at, and the management is ...manageable. The cars all have tons of individual character, the rallycross feels scrappy and frenetic and everything just comes together wonderfully. Codemasters, eh? They really have the hang of this thing.

DiRT Rally 2.0 does nothing but improve the reputation of the purest, modern rally series out there.

Codemasters has succeeded in perfecting an already spectacular driving model, making it more reactive and enjoyable, launching DiRT Rally 2.0 towards the throne of the best rally game ever. Launching, at day one, without events on the snow, the title is missing a fundamental piece. Apart from that, this is now the most refined rally simulator on the market.

DiRT Rally 2.0 far surpasses other rally titles and other games that feature, though don't specialise in rallying. With an extensively detailed roster of cars, where each of them feels, handles and reacts differently, on tracks that actively degrade through constant use, changing the lines you'll have to take, this is a game that will keep you thinking. Best of all, unlike its prequel (to an extent) and other racing sims, it's accessible thanks to a bevy of assists that you can change to suit your needs. A game that only features a few downsides, the primary one being a shallow career mode and some minor bugs here and there. All things considered, DiRT Rally 2.0 is the premier rally experience you could hope to have.

It could be improved in terms of content, but no other rally sim gives you driving physics as sophisticated, challenging and simply great as Dirt Rally 2.0!

DiRT Rally 2.0 brings some great and challenging driving feelings in spite of a too clasic career mode and a graphics engine that sometimes feels a bit old.

With excellent vehicle handling, DiRT Rally 2.0 finds itself in a strong position. It also has superb visuals and brutal simulation aspects. Apart from AI issues and track repetition, it should please most rally fans.

The game is getting better and better with the continuous support throughout the seasons and I sincerely hope more seasons make an appearance on the development board, because the core game and the core platform is great to build on.

Might've had a rocky start, but the journey is being great.

Currently the only "next-gen" rally simulation software.
VR performance is spotless, and the visuals are top notch.
I've never driven a rally car, but I find the physics convincing. You can predict how the car is going to react to bumps, crests, camber changes and apply corrections in a natural way. In particular, weight shift physics works as you would expect. To nail a scandinavian flick is pure joy.
Other details are surface changes, improved manual gearbox compared to DR1, fantastic FFB, tyre wear.

Some "game-ish" features spoil the true rally experience. The damage model is on the forgiving side, and once you develop your team's repairing skills it's impossible to run out of time for repairs between stages.
Locations are beautifully crafted and rich in details, but stages are too short. I think the longest stages are in the 16-18 km range, whereas the average is less than 10km.
Although tyre wear is there, you always have enough tyre changes to get a fresh set at every service area.

About the pricing policies, the only way to get a reasonable price is to put the full game including all DLCs in your steam wishlist and wait for at least a 50% discount.

    PROs:
    - convincing physics
    - visuals, audio and FFB give a great immersion
    - excellent VR performance
    - the full game has a good variety of locations and cars

    CONs:
    - gameish features prevent a true rally experience: forgiving damage model, easy repairs
    - short stages
    - combined price of base game + all DLCs is unjustifiable

I get what they're trying to do though, appease both sides of the gaming market. However, it doesn't work well as there are no people in the middle. Make it an arcade game, or make it a simulator. The only other issue I can think of is always-online DRM. The solution to this, buy the game, but download the pirated copy to eliminate that issue. Expand

The physics are more rules based than physics based just like every other codemasters title. It does have some nice long rally stages and the graphics are ok but the handling... it's just another iteration of the same old floaty, disconnected "physics" that codemasters is famous for. Expand

Não vejo necessidade em escrever um longo texto analisando sobre uma arte, a nota é apenas um conselho para saber o quanto ela vale para sua vida.

I see no need to write a long text analyzing an art, the note is just a piece of advice to know how much it is worth in your life.
