  • Summary: DISTRAINT is a 2D psychological horror adventure game for PC. You step into the shoes of an ambitious young man named Price. In order to forge a partnership from a famous company, Price seizes a property of an elderly woman. In that very moment he finds out the price of his humanity.

    Distraint is a phenomenal experience that all gamers should play. It explores guilt through the lens of a horror title which is rather unique in the video game space. Despite the fact that it can become frustrating at times, it takes a lot of risks that pay off. The twists in the game are unexpected and disturbing.

    Indie games of this kind, rise or fall on the creator’s ability to weave a narrative that engages the player on not just a gaming experience but also on that all important emotional one. The cost of this game is a worthy one to experience Price’s journey.

    It makes a lot of sense that a game made under such conditions would feel unpolished. I would love to see this game built on and improved upon. There’s so much potential in the creepiness that hovers over every step you take.

    Considering the atmosphere and the story Distrain is a job well done – instead of ostentatious horror it scares mainly with its realism and spooky normality, wrapped in occasional psychedelia. From time to time I lacked the option to control the game with a mouse and some game mechanics could be more user-friendly. These minor flaws, however, do not change the fact, Distrain is very pleasant experience.

    And the story is something wonderful, so "human", so dark.

Distraint makes you realize what it is to be a human, to have a soul, conscience and be responsible for your own actions and choices in life. Restro-styled pixelated graphics, little bit of a good soundtrack with decent light effects deserve 7 of 10. Very well done, Jesse. Keep going, I am sure you have tons of ideas to make them all real with these games of yours.… Expand

    бродильный геймплей. Ещё есть непримечательные пазлы.
    Графика, а точнее стиль - он мне не понравился, ещё когда я посмотрел на страницу игры в Steam. Уродские лица, анимации (например ходьбы, герои будто наложили в штаны и ходят на резиновых протезах). Локации выглядят OK. Потому что все плохо освещены, полагаю.
    Хоррор составляющая: "Неожиданная" кровь стекающая со стен и немного другой мистики. На меня сложно нагнать жути графикой, а такой смешной, что в игре - невозможно.
    Какие-то глубинные мысли, всё таки психологический хоррор? Никакой глубины, всё и так понятно. Главный герой - судебный пристав, то есть, например, должен у кого то конфисковать имущество. Только люди, у которых он "забирает дома" малость ТУПЫЕ, и отказываются от нормальных альтернатив жилья. И ГГ ВИНИТ ВО ВСЕХ ГРЕХАХ СЕБЯ И РАБОТУ. Дебил? Дебил.
    Уже додумали о чём игра? Значит вы уже прошли её в своей голове.
    Вернее сыграть в RPG с подобными дилеммами, там погружение лучше, и тупости из-за вариативности куда меньше. Но это моё мнение.    … Expand

    Simply not a game, just dull and ugly attempt to grab your money made by 1 man within 3 to 4 hours. Avoid.
