From lonely farmhouses through pitched battles with gods in far-flung dimensions, Divinity: Original Sin II is one of the most captivating role-playing games ever made in both its original and Definitive incarnations, with the latter proving that even the most complicated role-players can be ported successfully to gamepad-limited consoles. This immaculately conceived and emotion-wrought fantasy world, topped by brilliant tactical combat, make it one of the finest games of recent years, and it remains an instant classic in the pantheon of RPG greats.

Divinity Original Sin 2 was one of the best RPGs released in recent years. This Definitive Edition doesn’t change that fact. Loaded with content, it also features a good controler’s compatibility, allowing all console players to enjoy this gem.

Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition is so complex that I think everyone will find something to like, whether it’s combat or an exciting story. The best thing I can say about it is that if I’m asked what I liked about it, I can’t pinpoint something. It’s the complete experience and the feeling of joy that it left behind.

Original Sin 2 is one the best games in the recent years, and one of the most complete RPGs of all time, period. Everything a hardcore RPG fan would want from a game is on offer here, and you can barely find another title that mixes the classic table-top Role Playing elements with digital media so ingeniously. Not only for RPG fans, but for everybody else, Original Sin 2 is one of the best choices of 2018.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition is probably one of the best old-school RPGs you can find on console, a true masterpiece. The PC's version was almost perfect, this one follows the same path. Definitive Edition adds a new tutorial, new game mode (Story Mode) and a rework of Act III for the main campaign and it's great.

This game doesn't hold your hand, and the choices you make HAVE consequences. The creators understand what makes an RPG game good, and not only do they nail it, they do it better. Great RPG game for single or up to 3 other players. With a DnD game mode added on there as well, and a powerful game Editor tool, everything is possible. Expand

    Very good classic RPG.
Everything from a presentation perspective is top notch.
Art is beautiful, story is great, dialogues are extremely well written.
Main characters are all interesting in their own ways and have great storylines .
    Classes are cool.
Gets bogged down by a few technicalities.
Aoe terrain effects are way overused.
Is really hard the whole way through, gets **** by the end.
Would have benefited from a grid type layout while in combat.
Great game, play only if you like story heavy games and turn based combat.

But I feel like the combat becomes a bit samey after a while. There is such a massive emphasis on elemental attacks and spells that character levelling starts to feel like you are being forced into making similar builds, or risk getting punished in fights that can, at times, feel very unfair. This is especially so if you go into a battle first time unprepared, without knowing your environment or what you are up against. Often did I try and prepare as best i can, only to get decimated and succeeding a second time much more easily. Expand

I cannot play this. Object interaction is a nightmare. Inventory system seems to be of a 1990s game. Controls are clunky. Camera managementI cannot play this. Object interaction is a nightmare. Inventory system seems to be of a 1990s game. Controls are clunky. Camera management and movement are so slow. All of these make the pacing of the game unbearable.

And something should be done with the propagation of cannibalism and necrophilia.
