Despite the dated formula of this title, Dungeon Fighter Online stands out thanks to its excellent two-dimensional graphics and its rich and distinguishing gameplay.

I am absolutely shocked that such a potentially award-winning game falls short in so many ways. The core is there. The gameplay is there. If Nexon cared a bit more about the quality of the experience, this game would have lasting power.

Though not as slick or elegant as the classics it emulates, Dungeon Fighter Online is absolutely worth downloading, even if you only drop in for half an hour a day. The game’s cash shop items are certainly useful, but you’ll never have to spend a penny on DFO. Call a friend, smash some goblins, unlock new 2D fighting skills.

Overall, Nexon has developed, in my opinion, a very successful game in Dungeon Fighter Online. While it's not a traditional take on the MMORPG, and more of an MMO-ARPG, allowing players a massive array of choices all throughout the game, from class, to specialization, even having a specific type of gear to change appearance, only adds to the unique feel of each character within the world.

I started playing back in beta and there were many issues, so I had to quit for a while. my friends recently got me to return to check out the new character awakenings and dungeons. Many of the bugs that I saw in beta have been fixed, like the pvp and party lag. Even though this game gets pegged as a simple side scroller, arcade game, it is much more than that. Everything from the character skill tree to the pvp gameplay keeps me coming back for more. The best part about this game? It is totally free. After leveling my female gunner up to 60, and now with the awakenings added, I quit wow and I dont see myself ever going back because DFO rocks!!! Expand

At the time that I am writing this, It is in Open Beta Testing Part 1 and It still has some kinks to be worked out, but overall you get the feel of a different type of MMO. There aren't mob maps in between towns like other games, It is strictly a dungeon -based game. It is a 2D side scroller and is more like a classic type of Mortal Kombat type thing going on. The community is very nice, and the developers actually pay attention to them and Their needs. Give It a try, what is there to lose?? Expand

I stopped playing Halo, cause XBox 360 is 10 bucks a month now(!!!) and play DFO for f-r-e-e! No money down, smashing everyone with my priest. i don't want to sound like an advertisement, but this game is the tightes around! Expand

Dungeon Fighter is a very unique 2D beat em up fighting game that looks a lot like street fighter, but with 3D movement mechanics and very indepth classes. The class system is one of the main highlights to this game. You can graduate to a sub class, then graduate again to specialize that specialization. Simply put, you can play as over 35 classes in this game- all of which are completely unique and well thought out. The artwork is beautiful and the combat system is fluid and amazing. PvP could use some rebalancing issues, but that is always present in any fighting game. Currently, this game is on a dead run, meaning they haven't recieved content for awhile. This game does everything right as an MMO and is a definite try. It's completely under the radar, so people, please try it. Expand

The game itself is very fun and plays like a mix between old school hack and slash arcade games and 2D fighting games with juggling and combos. The PVP is very competitive and balanced, much more so than any MMO I've played before. The only problem with it, if you can consider it a problem, is that the leveling curve starts to plateau after lv 40 or so but I never felt like I wasn't progressing. All in all I would highly recommend at least giving it a try as it is a free game and you won't be disappointed. Expand

Old and slowly dying game, terrible RNG system and character balance design. even I can foresee its death.
