Turn-based strategy reveling with so many gaming features that it is too much at some moments. Eador: Imperium is mainly for players who are looking for a gaming challenge lasting for hundreds of hours. Others should rather put hands off.

One of the main changes that Imperium brings to the Eador formula is expanded battlefields allowing 12v12 fights as opposed to 8v8 in the original game. In theory, they should offer additional tactical options to players, but all they do is just prolong those leisurely battles even more.

It's kind of like crack in that regard: It's not good [for you], but it's just soooo addictive. Just give it a shot and you'll see.

Is it a great game? No. Having said that, there's just something so endearing about it that I just have recommend it. It's kind of a 4x exploration game with random quests and difficulty at the level you want. I recommend checking it out on Steam for the screenshots, description, and videos.
Conquer your enemies and grow your empire!

Pros - Aforementioned "je ne sais quoi" of a Piranha Bytes game, leveling up the heroes is satisfying, Pretty world, interesting tactical combat that is not RNG based (but can be easy to figure out), sandbox mode has a nifty mini new game plus where you start over in a new world but with your old heroes, there's an editor(!).

Cons - Clunky, chugging graphics engine, events are frequently repeated, sometimes stupid AI, the sentences indicating if an event will be easy or hard can be hugely misleading at times, limited events list (oh, was that repeated? how does that feel?!), many of the games attributes are not well explained so you're left guessing (although I guess there is a manual....), losing a unit really hurts, especially when they've been leveled up, weak campaign (sandbox is where it's at).

This is the review on the latest version of the game after tons of patches - a year after release.
Right after release it was simply unplayable, now it just has big problems.

Still, the optimisation is very bad. Strong PC, which runs all the latest games on ultra can't handle the game with past decades graphics? It gotta be kidding!

Becomes a little better with patches, but after a few hours of play (especially on the biggest maps) you quickly become friends with the same old crashes, freezes and many more different unpleasant issues. All this just ruin the hole experience.

Good ideas make it a better overall game than its predecessor, which was not bad at all byitself. But a game that can't be played - isn't a good one in any way.
