This Season Update experiment makes you wonder why this hasn’t been the norm for football games for years. If this is the future of the genre, sign me up. EA should be looking over their shoulder. PES has retaken the crown.
Theoretically, the idea of turning this edition of PES into a simple update is a good idea. Last year’s football season went totally crazy, the two tournament seasons almost overlapped and the pandemic stopped or slowed down videogame development for a long time. Focusing on next year’s game still seems a good choice, and it would be even better if Konami tried to dedicate the least amount of commitment to this update, which it didn’t. The absence of even a partial roster update update on day one is unacceptable, as is the ugliness of the Inter and Milan uniforms, even for a game that is still the best option for any football lover.

The best soccer game ever released by konami.
It is still being played by the efootball community because 2022 version it is a terrible game.

eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is a title that impresses us in gameplay and at the same time disappoints us in innovation. We expected much more from the great Konami in this installment.
It is appreciated that Konami releases PES 2021 as an update rather than releasing the same game every year.
eFootball PES 2021 Season Update offers a rather plain scenario. Returning fans will find nothing new here, except for rosters that still manage to be out of date, and thus present poor value for the purchase. But perhaps newcomers will use this opportunity to finally jump in at a reduced price and see what the franchise is all about.
eFootball PES 2021 share the same core components as its predecessor, the 2020 version, and other than some minor improvements in gameplay, there is no point in upgrading to the new version. If you really care about new kits, faces and updated line-ups, this seasonal update might make sense, but if you don't care about all this then you wouldn't miss much if you stick with the 2020 version.
This season update doesn’t bring anything new - not even correct rosters for the new season, which it really should include. But if you haven’t played the previous instalment, this is a fine way to cheaply acquire a great football game.
probably the best football game for ps4. it is not perfect, i play it in star difficulty and it's enjoyable. i don't like option files to get the licenses, but i got used to the fake names, which doesn't matter when playing. i miss the champions league :( i don't like lighting in some stadiums. BALL PHYSICS OMG.
the way I can use my defenders could improve but i can't find anything better somewhere else. looking forward to efootball 2022.
please just add more cinematics in game.
