Story issues aside, EVE: Valkyrie is an excellent game and the most-polished of the bunch for the PlayStation VR’s launch lineup.
EVE Valkyrie is a simple game, but keeping the scope small has allowed CCP to achieve something special. This is the space dogfighting game, and I can't imagine playing another space combat game now I've experienced Valkyrie. The microtransactions are a particularly gross negative from CCP, but it's the only misstep in a near flawless dance.

Love it! I've been doing long play sessions of excellent space combat (focused on multiplayer). So much fun with wingmen on mics to play with (join the PSN Community Parties). Zooming around using various classes of ships (fighter, heavy, support) with a variety of tactics, primary & secondary weapons, lock-on missiles, guns, phaser weapons, healing beams, flak weapons, helper spiderbots, etc. Cool, large environments...capital ships, asteroid fields with tunnels drilled through them, giant space stations, etc. This is the game I most wanted with my PSVR purchase, and the only full game I bought, and it has not disappointed. It can be challenging, there's so much going on, and there are good players that can wreck you fast. But when teams are in better balance, you can keep improving and having great fights.
Ignore the negative review by ****'s clear he only played the game about 10 minutes. There are maps that have short tunnels through asteroids, space stations that are basically nothing but tunnels, space stations with buildings and giant ships to weave through with all kinds of nooks and crannies to dodge through, etc. There's a planet-based map with a bunch of underground stuff.
And there IS a large ship you have to take-out in one of the game modes (Carrier Assault)...first you need to deploy your A.I. drone ship to takeover floating power stations, then once the power and shields come down, you need to destroy the cooling nodes on the giant carrier (avoiding the auto-turrets and other fighters), and then you have to fly inside the carrier and destroy the core, leading to a bunch of huge explosions destroying the carrier.

I'm going to say right off that this game might be too hard for some people. When the action gets going there is a LOT going on all around you and it can be a little overwhelming. That said, it feels exactly like what it's supposed to feel like: dogfighting in space! It takes a lot of practice to get good at the controls, especially the unique weapon types between different ships, but once it clicks... Oh man... There's nothing like unleashing plasma bolts at the guy in front of you while looking back over your left shoulder at another enemy and getting a missile lock on them using your "free look reticle" and then unleashing 5 missiles which wind around and track the rear target. Then there's the support ship, that lets you heal your allies by looking at them and using your alt-fire while attacking an enemy ship with your front-facing laser. Support-ship scenario: An enemy had almost taken out an ally's ship and was closing in behind them for the kill. I was able to heal the ally while at the same time damaging the enemy enough for them to break off their attack. My (now healed) ally turned around and finished off the fleeing enemy. Moments like that happen almost non-stop.
Non-stop is relevant with VR though. After an hour or so I do need to take a break. There's nothing wrong with the latency of the PSVR, or the controls, or anything really. It's just a TON of information to take in all and once and it's a little overwhelming without breaks. So (unlike every other game I've played to this point) I just need to take breaks or move to some other game for a while. But for all-out action or to show off your PSVR, this is fantastic - far exceeded my expectations.
Hopefully they push more story missions with emphasis on more carrier/destroyer, etc. There's not enough of that in the game right now but it's obvious they could add it since there is SOME of it.

Progression and microtransaction problems aside, after a VR stint in EVE Valkyrie I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to playing a dogfighting game on a regular screen. It’s just too good at showing me what I’ve been missing by not being able to look around freely as I pursue or evade targets. The intense and movie-like moments of strafing an enemy carrier while dodging incoming fire are a thrill.
EVE: Valkyrie is a delight to play, with tight and accessible controls. It’s the space-bound dogfighting dream you’ve always wanted, but a lack of single player content and some nasty microtransactions take the shine out of it all.
At its heart Valkyrie is a straightforward, arcade shooter which lacks enough variety in its gameplay to stop it growing stale quite quickly, and, for the asking price, it’s perhaps only fully recommendable to the most enthusiastic of space pirates.
Impressive space combat simulation, which takes advantage of PSVR like no other. But game modes are too few, player progression and spaceship customization are not too deep, and single player is limited to training modes and a very short campaign.

I have been waiting for a decent space shooter with realistic physics since Starlancer on the dreamcast. Finally here it is and in VR!! This was one of the games that made me part with the cash for a PSVR and I am glad I did, it is a fantastic game which is being constantly improved, and since its launch on the PC has had loads extra put into it which us lucky PS4 owners get to enjoy. Along with Batman, this is a must have PS VR title.

If you go in with high expectations for the game, you'll be disappointed. A spade is a spade. This game is clearly a large testing ground for the VR . Now that's not to say the game isn't fun, because it really is. You can easily get lost in the experience. While not the smoothest of shooters, you can spend all day in the **** of those spaceships. Each ship gives you a little different variety and generally aren't too hard to handle. The main story is essentially a walk-through of how to go into multi-player, which is the obvious draw of the game.
Going against the A.I. in multiplayer provides challenge as well. They are no pushovers. While the battles can be engaging in fun, the lack of real customization of the ships makes it easy to predict your opponent and vice versa. The game can be difficult for those who have to focus on multitasking because you can't just shoot, you have to maneuver to survive the battle. And don't expect to rack up high kill counts every mission. The variety in multiplayer isn't bad, but its all of the same you are used to.
To mention again, this is a testing ground game for the VR. Its made to hold you over till the other games come out. If you go in looking to simply enjoy the VR and a decent multiplayer experience, you will have a lot of fun. If you go in expecting to find the next great flight combat game, you will be very disappointed.

Eve: Valkyrie is a VR cockpit dog fighting game. One of the coolest experiences in VR for me so far has been flying and looking around in 360. Unfortunately outside of the multiplayer, where there is a steep learning curve, there is very little to this game. Valkyrie feels like a test demo for hopefully a fully fleshed out game in the future.

I did like this game at first during the first 1 or 2 missions but once they let you go to do more missions it's the same **** over and over again.
Graphics, they look good for the 1 of the few first games on VR but once you look at the graphics around you it looks like an earl PS3 game.
Gameplay, for me, it gave me a headache and a little sick.
It's an ok game but it's just so repetitive and boring since you do a 4v4 and everyone is all over the place in 1 match everyone actually was following 1 other person so we had a line going around trying to shoot the guy in front.
Overall, If you have VR you can skip this 1 or rent it

I did not enjoy this one. Its so boring and repetetive. The gameplay mechanic isnt even rewarding.
Its just spin around and try and get a ship in your crosshair then shoot. No cool environments to explore, no planets with tunnels, buildings or any of that kind. Just a few rocks scattered in space, maybe a couple of larger spaceship. The only kind of enemy you will be attacking is other spaceships, which all looks the same - a red freakin square (cause thats all you see anyways). Why couldnt there have been a planet with tanks/soliders/aliens - whatever - that you need to destroy? Or larger ships in space that you need to take out with some kind of tactic? Something cool to discover? This game is void of all else except spinning around like crazy trying to aim at red squares souring around you. And its freaking 60USD. If this was 20-25USD it would be fine, but for 60USD this is a total rip-off.
