In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned. Expand

Overall play-time to complete the expansion is around 4-5 hours, which does not sound like a lot; however this needs to be matched against its price of USD 9.99, which we believe is more than fair given its quality.

A brilliant ending for the story of New Vegas. Straightforward, but still very engaging RPG experience. [November 2011, p.100]

However important its place in the lore may be, this DLC simply doesn't play very well to the main game's strengths.

And that's about all you get, aside from a few new toys, some forgettable items, and another unnecessary boost to the level cap. [Holiday 2011, p.75]

Do not waste your money on this trainwreck. If you really want to know how it ends, go to the Fallout Wikia and read the article on Ulysses.

Sure, it's kind of difficult to complete, but still a pretty good add-on. I anticipated a more bizarre story, but overall, this was not that bad. I agree with some of the other reviewers when they say Dead Money was intense. Dead Money is my favorite DLC add-on for New Vegas. Why? It's the coolest and creepiest expansion! Expand

If you were able to stand the train stations in Fallout 3, the environments here won't be a problem. The storyline is deeper than Old World Blues, a more personal story than Dead Money, and the area itself is put together better than Honest Hearts. The atmosphere is a weak point, but it's meant to be bleak because of the subject nature. ED-E here is probably the companion with the overall best characterization, due to Ulysses ending up as a non-companion character. Red Glare managed to beat out the Missile Launcher as a weapon, and the Shoulder-Mounted Machine Gun covers the Minigun's weak points while still keeping some of the strengths, like a decent magazine size and a relatively-decent fire rate that still puts down bullets without draining ammo like a bullet hose Minigun does. Writing might not be as witty as the one inLonesome Road is the second best expansion to Fallout New Vegas (second only to Old World Blues). Writing might not be as witty as the one in the base game or OWB, but it has it's moments. Story of ED-E is truly touching, two Couriers dispute over ethical and geopolitical implications of ongoing conflict between NCR and the legion brings new light to the events we all know from the Mojave and all of this is sinking in an overwhelming shadow of USA ruin. DLC stands out for it's heavy and gloomy atmosphere. Wandering the Divide is a very different experience than walking the Mojave desert - it feels more like Fallout 1 reborn in 3D than another desert segment of the world. Lonesome Road has it's own magic that I recommend to try. Worth to mention - it's literally the only DLC for New Vegas I had no technical issues with. No gamebreaking bugs, no game crashes, everything worked just fine, which is quite an achievement if you think about the base game itself. Expand

The Environments were nice but nothing really special or notable. The character introduced, yes not Plural is very interesting and well developed but in the end that doesn't mean much when the gameplay isn't that good. Our character really receives no development except for small tidbits that really mean nothing but of course this is simply a problem inherited from the Main game, the Amnesia character.

The game is just a challenge. They add challenging enemies and shiny new weapons.
