This was definitely a labor of love and it shows in the quality of the presentation and the attention to detail in every subtle nuance of the characters, their powers, and the way it all comes together in the gameplay.
While the gameplay and controls could have used a little more work, Fantastic Four is a comic book brawler that may just beat out the summer blockbuster competition.
The models up close are unsightly, the cinemas grainy and the music has all the luster of a Tide commercial, but the game on the whole is entertaining by game standards. [Aug 2005, p.50]
Comic book fans will appreciate the inclusion of additional enemies and the ability to fight alongside a friend in co-op mode, but the game still comes up short.
The curse of movie to video games conversions strikes again, as there's nothing fantastic or memorable about this repetitive and generic actioner.
With dated graphics and substandard animation, combined with misfiring voiceovers, poor presentation and woefully repetitive and restrictive gameplay, Fantastic 4 is not likely to whip up a storm with gamers or their wallets.
The coop is a nice, but not perfect, feature that not many games have lately, but unfortunately that may not be enough to save this game from its terrible graphics and seriously repetitive gameplay.
