  • Summary: Games are won and lost in the midfield - in FIFA 16, the midfield matters. Stay in possession with patient build-up play or ping clinical passes through space to start an attack.

FIFA 16 can be stubborn and stifling, but it feels gloriously new, and having to learn fresh strategies and nuances in a game series like this is an almost-forgotten pleasure.

Looks like FIFA 15, but it's a better game. FIFA 16 improves the gameplay and is on par with PES 2016 again.

FIFA 16 may be the best solution, this year, for anyone looking for a football sim on the PC platform. This is mostly a result of its competition being a very bad port for PC and EA Sports playing it safe when it comes to the franchise. There might not be vast improvements from its predecessor, but FIFA 16 does have some, resulting in a game that is an awful lot of fun to play.

Gameplay changes are substantial, but not always in the right direction. Nevertheless, the new FIFA is still a very robust and rewarding production. FIFA 16 is not a blast from first match but gains our respect with each season.

All these adjustments to animation, dribbling, and shooting lead to what EA is calling Moments of Magic, which feels like a misguided attempt to define something that’sbeen part of FIFA for years.

Still the best football game you can buy for your rig, but FIFA 16 feels unambitious.

Something of a return to form after 15, but sooner rather than later EA will need to stop re-arranging pieces of their existing code and actually develop a properly new and substantial FIFA engine.

It has improved everything that was poor made in FIFA 15, added new modes to FUT and career mode. It's fluid, slower which makes it realistic and the visuals are great.

    Fifa 15.2
    Pros:
    - Weekly squad updates
    - Local multiplayer
    - Great content
    - Manual commands
    Cons:
    - Nobody plays manual online.
    - No lobbies.
    - You can't skip the opponent's celebs/replays;
    - No learning curve. You can hold the controller with your feet and still win games.
    - Cheaters (especially in FUT, playing this pay to win mode is a total nonsense with those guys). Ranking is thus useless.
    - Laggers.
    - 80% of the people playing this game at least are casuals running it on toasters/crappy laptops using wi-fi. As soon as the FPS go down ingame or during the cutscenes (locked at 30fps by the way), it gets unplayable online. There's the mutual quit option available in order to avoid those guys, but they never accept it so they get away with 3 points everytime. Cutscene = overheating laptop/toaster = lag. It only gets worse until the game is finished.
    - People play the same in div. 1 as in div. 6, only with worse toasters/more lag.
    - Almost every player plays the same in this game, using Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern. It seems that the goal of this game is to cross the whole pitch as fast as you can, with the least passes possible using pacy players like CR7, Bale, Messi, Neymar, Ribery, Robben in order to score the same pathetic goal all game long (except for button mashed headers on corners) and switching to autopilot in defense with the AI doing all the job thanks to the parking the bus tactics.
    - You can have 70% ball possession and 18 shots vs 2 and winning is not guaranteed, thanks to the crappy netcode. Some people call this scripting/handicap.
    - You see donkeys with 60% passing accuracy winning games because scoring goals has been made easy for casual kids so that they don't cry.
    - You buy a game on launch and 3 months later it has nothing to do with what you bought thanks to patches killing the experience every time a bit further.
    - When the game becomes cheap during some Origin sales, poor people get it and it gets even more unplayable online thanks to their bad hardware.

    Conclusion:
If you care about online playability and winning games when you deserve it, don't buy this game. If you love frustrating, unfair things and playing against retarded people that would sell their souls for 3 points, you're gonna love it.

most inconsistent PC game I have ever played. DLC packs are a total ripoff. and to top it all off apparently Inform and Non day 1 cards have broken chem so they were never worth more than a non inform card.lying, cheating company. they would rather steal your money and lie to your face than fix their broken POS

I was so happy after getting the game at midnight from Origin. I couldn't wait to see Memphis Depay and Martial's stats in Man Utd. Wow- theI was so happy after getting the game at midnight from Origin. I couldn't wait to see Memphis Depay and Martial's stats in Man Utd. Wow- the new Fifa! Finally!
All that joy went away in about an hour.
Draft mode - well it really good idea, feels great when you are building the team. But once you start playing some FUTBOL you immediately get frustrated. It's slow, sluggish and boring.
I though it's because the SCRIPT (EA admit the game uses software that favors one of the opponents when he/she sucks) was not on my side.
Coll - let's try Career Mode with Bayern then - I really find it a little more fun then Ultimate team.
It was even worse. I started playing at World class, but I won my first games with 4-5 goals each.
Legendary was really frustrating, it's like your Robben (90+ pace) is slower than an old lady going to a Sunday church and PER MERTESAKER (under 40) has a jet engine in his ass and decimates the poor Dutch.
Then I decided to do something I haven't done in years - check PES 16.
It was fluid, fast, unpredictable and FUN compared to the FIFA. I switched back again to FIFA game and it felt as dynamic and fluid as chess.
I got my money back from Origin (24hour return rule) and bought PES.
If you don't believe me - get the PES demo from Steam - it's free.
