Finding Paradise is a memorable experience that may last me a lifetime, like a good book or film. The care placed into each scene is one of the reasons why Finding Paradise is such a masterpiece. Each string of dialogue, each reference to other games, every joke, and every pixel — they all feel deliberate and labored over, yet also so smoothly executed, as if effortless.

Finding Paradise is simply a narrative masterpiece that knows how to discuss important topics like the search of happiness. A significant maturity growth in Kan Gao's writing.

The characters are profoundly written, have a lot of heart, and the story is as sad as it is exhilarant. […] I recommend Finding Paradise (and the predecessor To the Moon and the connecting piece A Bird Story) to everyone who loves well-written characters and thrilling stories und has no problem with the almost non-existent gameplay.

Finding Paradise is a simple game, but convinces with its emotional and unusual story as well as the clever humor.

It's an interesting tale, it's mystery and fuzzy chronology giving it a constant, momentum. [March 2018, p.120]

Finding Paradise continues doctor Watts and Rosamune's journey with and interesting narrative adventure. The plot is beautifully told through bright dialogues and nice character construction, but gameplay feels very basic.

An interesting input and gorgeous musics aren’t enough to make Finding Paradise a pleasant and emotional experience like To The Moon was. Believable characters are shadowed by a linear and repetitive structure and by a story unable to stand up on its own.

    Kan Gao did it again!

After waiting for more than 2 years for this, I played "Finding Paradise" minutes after it was released and completed it in one go. Roughly about 6 hours.

If you've played "To The Moon", you will feel right at home as "Finding Paradise" is in many ways the same as the first game in the series. That is not to say this is a criticism.
So we have another dying patient that has a wish which the two doctors Neil and Eva will try to fulfill. These two make a great comic duo yet again and their jokes will make you laugh. There are some references to "To The Moon" and some other winks towards pop-culture. I did find it interesting that during one scene, Kan even reflects through the characters on how mixed of a reception "A Bird's Story" had (I loved it, btw).

For some, the interface, graphics and limited 'gameplay' will be a minus, but we all know that it is the story that makes "Finding Paradise" a real gem. And this one will stay with you as well. While we explored more of a 'love' theme in "To The Moon", "Finding Paradise" touches more on regrets, loneliness and growing up. And yes... someone will be cutting onions again towards the end. Even though I guessed it this time, I am still going to say it didn't disappoint.

The soundtrack is where the game shines as well. It's a masterpiece by itself and I will listen to it once it is released. Just to give you an idea how great it is - I deliberately stayed longer in some rooms, just so I can enjoy the music. And we will have some cameos from "A Bird's Story" and "Quintessence".

So... grab some tissues, switch off your phone and just enjoy playing it. You will not REGRET this.

    Thanks, Kan.

。 Expand

Well done freebird, really well done. A good and emotional game that will let you cry like a baby and laugh like in a comic show
