What seemed impossible a few years back is now a reality and PC gamers can finally play one of the most important Sony exclusives of all time thanks to recent developments in video games industry; and even though it has been 4 years since the initial release of God of War on PS4, it’s still one of the best action adventure games currently available.

How impressive God of War is on PC really gives credit to Santa Monica Studio’s work on this game. It’s still a gorgeous journey through a unique take on Norse mythology, and a great way to play the game for the first time or revisit it before God of War Ragnarok releases. I’m as impressed with it now as I was the first time through it, and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for Kratos and Atreus in the sequel.

The end product here shows that PlayStation is becoming much more experienced with this PC porting process, which isn't just a great thing for God of War, but it bodes well for the company's future plans in this space.

There is no question that God of War is an exceptional game. But the magic on display with the PC port pushes an already tremendous game to new heights and offers some key features that will help it run well on a variety of modern machines. At this point, if gamers have the means to play God of War they should, and even if it’s a replay of the PC version is still well worth checking out.

Far from having suffered the ravages of time, this PC port of GOD OF WAR is more beautiful than ever. Some options allow graphics to be pushed to the limit, while others are intended to relieve less powerful machines. But what struck us the most in January 2022 was finally to see how far the adventure was ahead of its time. Four years after its release on PlayStation consoles, the game is still as sublime, addicting and impactful.

God of War is still one of the most entertaining, engaging, and impactful games to come out of Santa Monica Studios. The story is meaningful and emotional, the mechanics are thoughtful and entertaining, and the presentation on the PC is simply unrivaled. This is still a treat after nearly four years.

I experienced no issues with my entire playthrough, the game never crashed, I did not find any bugs or glitches, and the performance was always exactly what I expected out of the systems I played on. I cannot recommend both the game and the PC port highly enough.

God of War was the best game of the previous generation and now it’s available on the PC with little enhancements, but none of them is needed. This is a good PC port with no issues and a wide variety of graphical choices. With the inclusion of Nvidia DLSS, you will not be sacrificing visual fidelity for the framerate and vice versa. God of War is a game that will always have my recommendation on any gaming device it’s available on.

In terms of graphics and controls, the PC version of God of War is perfectly built for PC. If you have always been interested in the God of War franchise but unable to play it due to game console exclusiveness, now is your perfect chance to experience the greatness of God of War. Before release of God of War: Ragnarok, experiencing the next-gen God of War will be a good choice for the die-hard fans of this franchise.

There is nothing to complain about, the port of God of War is done in the rules, it's beautiful, it runs well, all the options and features expected are there. We can be happy to finally have one of the best games of these last years available on PC. God of War is an excellent and satisfying violent romp, with a healthy dose of exploration and nice dialogues to go with it. The recipe is successful, and it is now available on the best platform.

This is the second time I've finished it and I've enjoyed it like a child, if you haven't played it before or even thought about it, run and enjoy it.

Really though, all you need to know is that one of the best games of the last decade is now available on PC.

If you don’t own any PlayStation consoles and this is your first chance to play God of War, then this is your call to action. It’s worth it: there’s a reason everyone was obsessed with this game. God of War lives up to the hype, and it hasn’t aged since its release. All the reasons God of War was so good the first time around haven’t gone anywhere. I’m glad Sony Santa Monica released God of War on PC. The more people who can play God of War, the better.

God of War lands on PC with a great port, very smooth, with improved graphics and a good chunk of visual settings that helps to elevate even more the myth of this great, although imperfect, adventure: it doesn't take advantage of all the PC brute force (there is no ray tracing) and mice and keyboard control isn't very enjoyable (at least for us).

After more than 55 hours spent playing, I’m still awed by just how great God of War is. This is the result of a clear, determined vision, its separate elements harmonizing almost perfectly to deliver an experience that understands the series’ blood-soaked origins but is also not afraid to push it into a more mature and nuanced direction. Kratos and Atreus’ relationship develops naturally as does their understanding of the foreign land they’re journeying through. The story takes its time, never rushing its satisfying reveals, and making way for a set of surprisingly personal boss fights, while the continuous camera shot used throughout the game is a masterstroke in terms of presentation. All this is built around a snappy and responsive combat system that has more depth than you’re initially led to believe. There are more jaw-dropping surprises I didn’t touch upon simply because it’s best that you experience them for yourself. Looking back, aside from the port’s few performance flaws, my only real complaint has to do with Sony taking this long to bring the game to PC.

You will encounter some minor issues, but God of War for PC is a really good port of a fantastic game that will keep you engaged by its immersive story and captivating gameplay.

This is a God of War PC players were waiting for. The game didn’t age a bit since it was released on PS4, it still looks amazing and brings tons of satisfaction that comes not only from the thrilling combat, but also from the interesting story. It was definitely worth the wait, especially that I didn’t encounter any technical issues with the port and I got used to keyboard and mouse controls relatively quickly.

New graphics settings make this three-year-old game still beautiful, and the action can stand side by side with games in today's market. Nothing has changed. The game is mostly the same: Kratos is still playing the "father simulator" and God of War is still a wonderful game that, at the time, offered an aesthetic experience hard to match up. However, nothing that existed in 2018 can be assumed as the reality that we live in the present day, the fateful AP (After Pandemic) World. What really changed is, undoubtedly, the way we see it... Ah, of course! Also the platform.

A great game, and a really good port. Rejoice, PC gamers, because you can now play one of the best games of previous generation (and according to some, ever) on your fancy, high-speed drives. 2022 couldn't have started better for you.

The game runs better than on any other platform and is decked out with all the settings imaginable with bonus content to boot. Replaying through the grand adventure that is Kratos and Atreus’ story was also a delight. So if you’re a hardcore fan of God of War like I am or have never played the game, then I implore you to do so on PC if possible as its so far the most optimal way to play it.

This is simply a phenomenal game, a brilliant ballet of flawless design and gripping gameplay. The PC port has its flaws even though it’s by no means a catastrophe. Let’s hope repairs are on the way.

I still can't believe I just played God of War 2018 on my PC. Not only that, it's a great port, with excellent performance, features like DLSS and FidelityFX and compatibility with a wide arrange of controllers. What a time to be a gamer.

The parts that comprise God of War may not all be equally well-crafted, but they build a great cohesive experience and a noteworthy PC port. The soundtrack, visuals, story, combat, and the world come together so well that it amounts to something greater than the sum of its parts, and that is still true on PC almost four years removed from its original release on a last-gen console. That's all you need to know, so go and finally experience this gem for yourself.

The Phantom of Sparta makes its debut on PC with a port of remarkable workmanship, which inherits all the merits of the Santa Monica Studio masterpiece and enhances them thanks to the merits of a technical sector of exquisite workmanship.

The PC version of God of War is simply the best way to play this marvelous action made in Santa Monica Studios. We'd like to have a bunch of additional graphic options but the full support of DLSS and FSRR are more than enough to justify a new run with this game also if you played it on PS4/PS5.

God of War isn't drastically different on PC when compared to the PS4 version that launched back in 2018, but its little improvements are definitely nice ones, making this a solid PC port overall. There isn't reason enough here to buy a second copy of the game if you've already played, necessarily, but the PC version is a great reason to check out God of War for the first time for anybody who hasn't had a chance to experience it. God of War remains an excellent, gorgeous, affecting action game, and with the port to PC, it gets a handful of nice, if somewhat minor, improvements.

It’s nice to be able to play God of War on PC. Being able to push this game to its limits is awesome, and it makes the world and its inhabitants feel a lot more natural and fluid. It may not be perfect, but I would gladly argue that this is the best way to experience God of War.

It may not be as impressive as it once was, but God of War is still a great adventure today with focus on human drama to go alongside its culture rich nature to give it just that extra special feel and meaning. This version is one of the better PC conversions that I had the pleasure to try lately and it surpasses the original in visual fidelity -although slightly - and performance to offer the ultimate experience of this classic journey.

God of War is a narrative gem. What it lacks in pacing and agency, it more than triumphs in writing, acting, and directing.

If you always wanted to play God of War, but never owned a PS, this is the perfect moment to try this legend on PC. The port is solid, and technical shortcomings aren't serious enough to prevent you from having fun with this phenomenal slasher. If you know GoW from PS4, you probably want to ignore this release - there's nothing new compared to the original.
