This shooter's imbecilic AI and laughable weapons-modelling all scream "rush job," through each of its nine sleep-inducing missions. [July 2003, p.75]

I love being a god and giving orders to my generals to go into the battlefield and kill all those peasants asunder. With a sword in my hand and a pistol in another, I will tear through the blooshed and kill all my enemies or die trying. I will activate my eagle eye vision to see the value and prospects of victory, and i won't accept defeat as an answer.

Outdated graphics, bad sound, lousy control, horrible technical performance, nonfunctional computer AI, terrible weapons--the game has about every problem you could possibly think of. In fact, it's difficult to imagine that Gods and Generals could be much worse than it is.
A nightmarish collection of bad ideas, bottom barrel production values, and exists only to steal $19.99 from the pockets of passionate Civil War fans that deserve better. [July 2003, p.86]
A poor effort of recreating a good movie, with weak graphics, poor controls (the mouse sensitivity is WAY too high), frequent bugs and crashes, terrible AI and poor mission design. Not worth buying, and I hope metacritic takes a look at all these suspicious 10s, all of which appear to have been marked on the same day. There is certainly no way anyone in their right mind could give this a ten.

This is absolutely the worst game I've ever played in my entire life, bad programming, bad AI, **** graphics, **** sound effects, in fact the entire game is just a waste of time, it's an insult to just call it a game, you'll probably have more fun playing with your fingers than dealing with this game, I bought this game for just one reason, to troll my friends who have not played this game yet. >:)
