Dec 12, 2017Gorogoa is the perfect mix of story, gameplay, and aesthetic that all come together in order to form a truly beautiful experience. Between the simple but charming narrative, the creative and satisfying puzzle design, and the breathtaking hand-drawn artwork, Gorogoa is a wonderful puzzle game that will amaze all who choose to play it.

Dec 20, 2017Through its characters, its designer, and its player, Gorogoa keeps an outsider’s perspective in a present state of mind. Straightforward action—shifting panels and considering different points of view—doesn’t preclude logical twists or emotional complexity. In only a couple hours, Gorogoa creates a window into a daydream and a companion to despair.

Feb 14, 2018A unique masterpiece of a game, a victory of creativity.

Dec 21, 2017Gorogoa is a very good small game with very good puzzles and a lovely artistic sense highlighted by a sublime soundtrack. On the downside, we would have loved a little bit more playtime as the games offers little more than two hours of enjoyment.

Jan 30, 2018Gorogoa crafts its inventive, sliding-tile puzzles and magical world with a graceful simplicity across a compact but fulfilling adventure. The excitement of solving each puzzle may be lost on a repeat playthrough, but its hand-drawn art and clever payoffs are no less satisfying to watch unfold again and again. Gorogoa manages to say so much without uttering a single word, endowing it with a mystery that invites a more attentive, thoughtful revisit — and one that I was more than happy to accept.

Jan 29, 2018Beautiful, hand-drawn puzzle game that enchants the player with elegantly nested puzzles and a story without words.
-
Dec 12, 2017Gorogoa’s artist and designer, Jason Roberts, clearly had a vision with this game and I applaud him and everyone else at developer Buried Signal for making it a reality. But I struggle to recommend this experience, because whatever emotions Gorogoa was hoping to convey, I simply did not feel them.

Apr 18, 2020You mostly just click around randomly until stuff happens or not. Wouldn't call it a puzzle game as there is no satisfaction in "solving" anything.
