Grom is not for the weak-hearted; it's extremely hard. I often had to kill one enemy, save and repeat over and over until I got it right.
It's only flaw might be that the game is so unique that it can take quite a while to get into it, and the game is not very forgiving.
This game is very frustrating and relies on a blend of skill and luck which means even if you're a skilled player you will never have total control of the randomized events... Still, for the right person this can be a very fun game.
The game's problematic interface makes it too complicated to be mindless fun, and the combat itself is too mindless to have any strategic depth.
The contrast between cartoonish characters and sprays of blood only continues the rollercoaster of pain and confusion. Make sure to play on an empty stomach. [June 2003, p.88]
