Grounded is a different formula in the survival game genre that stands out for its nature. It is not different from its other relatives, but it does have that touch of continuity (a bit monotonous) that will give us several hours of play.

Grounded is a delightfully creative and occasionally terrifying survival sandbox.

Obsidian has done a great job at all levels - universe, exploration, combat, construction, survival - for this beautiful and original survival game, just a little more balancing and it will be perfect.

Grounded offers a survival game that is both fun and accessible, without taking the player by the hand. The difficulty is present, without being punishing, and the progression is really satisfying through this gigantic garden, which manages to mix beauty and arachnid horrors. It's an interesting adventure, whether you're playing single or multiplayer, and we can't help but recommend trying it out, even to those who usually ignore survival games.

The tiny backyard world in Grounded is a joy to explore, full of danger and wonder. It offers great value, despite a slow progression system and a drawn-out main quest line.

Equal parts survival game and horror sim, Grounded is a must-play for those who can handle spiders. Cutesy graphics hide a complex survival game with compelling depth, alongside some truly intense combat encounters.

You are catapulted from the top of the food chain to the bottom, and giant ants and spiders simply look horrifying. Although in "Grounded" it does not result in horror, but in an exciting and smoothly playing adventure game in which, thanks to your ingenuity, you must survive long enough to figure out how to get big again.

Solid survival game - played solo

    Good:
    - Elaborate combat system, which is untypical for Survival but works well.
    - Great graphics that perfectly use the strengths of the UE4 with solid performance.
    - Varied biomes with lots of secrets and lots of resources that benefit the equipment system more than base building.
    - One of the best settings menus ever. You can customize a lot, even the shape of the spiders if you have a phobia about them.
    - The moth is so incredibly cute.

    Average:
    - Story is predictable but ok for the genre. There's also some laughter and drama too. And Dramedy is the best mix in storytelling.
    - There are things like dungeons that are a bit reminiscent of Zelda. The first was very good, the 3-4 after that unfortunately not so much.
    - Resource system initially seems very strong and varied. Later, however, it seems artificial and not implemented in a meaningful way. A Subnautica can do that better!
    - Enemy variation is fine, but since the different strains of the same enemy type (e.g. ants) are very similar, the variation then weakens.

    Bad:
    - A little too much focus on combat
    - In the end, a lot is stretched and there are no real new opponents. You just get overwhelmed by more and more enemies.
    - Missed chance for mounts

Another uninspired survival game for PC & Console and I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of Devs quit!
