  • Summary: Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a Tarantino-esque homage to the exploitation/grindhouse films from the 70ies, the gangster classics, and the old school 2D arcade shooters.

Guns, Gore and Cannoli might only last a couple of hours, bit it can be picked up for a low price of $9.99, and I’d highly recommend any fan of the genre to check this game out immediately. Godfather + Metal Slug + Zombies = Guns, Gore, and Cannoli.
  2. Looks like Crazy Monkey Studios sacrificed quantity for quality: Guns, Gore & Cannoli lasts only four hours and doesn’t have alternative modes (besides coop in the same campaign), but the time you’ll spend with it will be a blast. [June 2015, p.85]

The action is engaging and challenging, largely due to massive mobs and a versatile list of enemy types. If you can live with its admittedly minor flaws, this run-and-gun game is worth your time and money.

Fun and entertaining, Guns Gore & Cannoli delivers a good taste of the old days shooters. Its problems are length and no extra things to do once the experience ends.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a fresh 2D side scrolling action that knows how to entertain with his good variety and gameplay, similar to that of immortal classic like Metal Slug.

Its a simple and fun scrolling shooter, but its lasting appeal is indeed quite short.

An awesome cartoonish visual but a little fairly and simple gun and run. The low price and co-op with other three players makes Gun, Gore & Cannoli a worth try.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli involves all three of those things- and a lot of them. It's a run-and-gun game about a zombie outbreak in the prohibitionGuns, Gore & Cannoli involves all three of those things- and a lot of them. It's a run-and-gun game about a zombie outbreak in the prohibition era.

It's 1925. Mafia hitman Vinnie Cannoli has come to Thugtown for a job: find Frankie the Fly and bring him to Mr Bellucio. The only problem is, as soon as the ship he booked passage on makes harbor, he finds himself knee deep in a plague of the undead! Good thing he's got his trusty .45 on hand.

The game is fairly simple to play, even by run-and-gun standards. There's no mouse controls at all: You shoot in the direction you're facing, and the only way to adjust your aim is to duck or jump. Thankfully, you have a wide variety of weapons as well as a large stack of grenades and molotovs, which always seem to land precisely where you need them to. Handy, that. You also have a kick, which is useful for when you're getting swarmed by zombies. Most engagements can be approached strategically and without taking uneccessary damage, putting this game a cut above say, Mercenary Kings. Checkpoints are mercifully frequent as are health items, in the form of boxes of fresh cannoli.

The campaign length is on the short side, at least on normal, but there is the option for up to four-player local coop. In addition, the game has excellent asthetics- hand-drawn graphics, extremely fluid animations and music to suit the setting. It's also extremely gory, if you couldn't tell from the name, enough that some might find it off-putting.

If you can stomach it though, this is an excellent run-and-gun platformer and well worth the small asking price.

    1. The campaign could be longer (12 levels)
    2. The controls are keyboard or controller only (no mouse aiming,no shooting up or diagonally either).
    3. The scrolling is really bad (if you are retreating,it moves quickly back,so you cant see enemies).

Good and funny arcade shooter. If you like Metal Slug or Shoot Many Robots, this game is for you.

I must say, that the art style doesn't suit me at all and corny phrases of protagonist after some kills are simply annoying. Even though the game poses a challenge, especially on higher difficulties it was hard for me to get into it because of the repetitive formula and similar situations with the same enemies. All in all mediocre game. Expand
