There's more love and care lavished on The Master Chief Collection than you see in countless other big-money, brand new blockbuster releases. The fact that the games themselves are fantastic fun online and off is the cherry on the icing.
A great pack of four games full of content: over hundred multiplayer maps, great variety of modes, four epic and intense co-op campaigns and smoother visuals for the remake of Halo 2. It's a must have for any Xbox One owner.

The best multiplayer shooter of all time, but that's not even the primary selling point. The campaigns are. No FPS game has ever or will ever come close to the quality of storytelling and lore of the Halo franchise.

For those new to the universe of Halo, a vast array of single and multiplayer content awaits, all revolving around one of the greater ongoing stories available in gaming and featuring the franchise's hallmark genre-defining arena combat. For the more initiated, a chance to go back and relive many fond moments from a whole new perspective, is also a boon.
If you have never played Master Chief's adventures before or you just want to enjoy its games again, this Halo anthology is a must-have for every Xbox One user.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has a handful of quirks and legacy issues, but those don't diminish the achievement. It's a stellar collection of some of the best games of the last few generations, with options galore and clever ideas like Playlists to breathe new life into old content.
A bit of a disaster...Why? It's a half-assed, crudely cobbled-together product prone to crashing, lockups (and as of press time) absolutely non-functional multiplayer.

In terms of value, MCC is unbeaten as you get access to multiple masterpieces both in terms of campaigns and multiplayers. The problem is MCC takes away many features from the individual games and adds problems (mostly multiplayer orientated). For example, the aim assist is way too strong in MCC which lowers the skill gap tremendously and can lead to a lot of trades and unfair gunfights when its controller vs mnk. Another issue is the MCC progression system, the level system is so boring it hurts and gives you no incentive to level up besides a slightly different icon instead of having unique levels like reach and 3 which help you to unlock new armor and stand out. Also, the way to unlock armor is as boring as it gets with a battle pass style system where you just unlock things in a set order pretty much instead of the reach style where you save up credits and level up so when people have rare items they are unique but in mcc everyone has these items. 343 Also decided to get rid of map voting/veto which ****. Overall, for me at least multiplayer is not as fun as it was back in the day.
Another HUGE problem is co-op campaign, if you dont host you will have a lot of input lag and delay for some reason which makes it very annoying to play, this is the worst on halo 2 where the lobby will crash all of the time forcing you to restart the mission. The original games didnt have these problems.
I love the Halo franchise and MCC is great for allowing people to play all of the older games but the multiplayer is a huge downgrade from the original and the campaigns can be unplayable in co-op. :(

Even on PC, nowadays, it's disappointing. Why does 343 get so many second chances? It's proven time and again they are incapable of finishing a game on time. Halo CE was broken for the longest time and took a community member to fix it. These ports are buggy, Halo 2 uses Halo 4 assets which is annoying and inconsistent, 343 needs to be removed from Halo because they have no idea what they are doing
