I don’t know how to feel about this game
Heart Chain kitty is pure nostalgia, the momnt you boot it up on the swith, the first thing youll notice is how awful it looks, it looks like it was made in the late 90s.. And it feels as such too, this is a 3D platforming collectathon, youre a cat thing, that runs around a hub area and individual levels collecting hearts to upgrade your character.. and the world here is heavily, and I mean heavily inspired by the likes of Mario, from its characters to its jumping and coin grabbing… even the music feels very nintendo to me.. sadly though heart chain kitty is just a little too all over the place for me.. the hub world for example is not fun to traverse for or easy to remember its layout.. which I mean, come on..its a hub world.. that’s literally the point.. remmebring how to get to things you cant access yet so you can come back to them later.. and I feel like the levels here just get less and less interesting as the game goes on.. that being said this game is weird, its kinda enjoyable to playthrough, but don’t expect handholding, youre thrown into this world with annoying checkpoints, no progress saved unless you activte those checkpoints, that’s right.. finally complete a tough obstacle to get a heart and you die on your way back? You gotta do it again… just like the good ole days… a lot of heart chain kitty will frustrate you.. whether that’s on purpose to make this game nostalgic as possible or not.. these are the least fun things about older games.. a lack of progress saving for collectables in modern times just isn’t acceptable to me..
If you wnt a fun,yet frustrating at times weird and confuing trip down memory lane, grab heart chain kitty, but if youre fine just where you are with modern graphics and checkpoints, youre not missing much by staying away..
    I give Heart Chain Kitty,
    a 6/10
