Despite their imprisonment, these shadowy beings' influence can be felt in every corner of Azeroth, twisting and corrupting any who hear their maddening whispers. With an army of followers performing forbidden empowerment rituals, the tentacles of these massive horrors are growing rapidly toward the light, eager to bring their own kind of excitement to the sunlit kingdoms and merry taverns of Azeroth. More effective than any other Hearthstone expansion so far thanks to the new Standard and Wild modes, Whispers of the Old Gods brings some necessary changes in addition to keeping things fresh for Hearthstone veterans, all while making things more welcoming to newcomers.

Whispers of the Old Gods is an impressive expansion for an awesome game that’s continuing to grow in a very clever way.

Time will tell whether or not Hearthstone will keep appealing to new players. With Whispers of the Old Gods the game feels new and fresh once again that two years after the release of the vanilla game still makes it worth playing.

Hearthstone: Whispers of the Old Gods manages to bring a breath of fresh air to a stale metagame. Design seems to have shifted from useful all-around good cards to more unique cards that you build your deck around, creating new and refreshing archetypes. Another solid hit after League of Explorers. [June/July 2016]

Whisper of the Old Gods is the new exciting expansion for Hearthstone and introduce the player to the new standard mode.

Unfortunately the newest expansion of the popular card game not only does little to provide additional depth, quite the contrary as it rather reduces the variety of top decks. We wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future we will only see a handful of identical decks on the virtual tables.

The Meta is very diverse and the old gods - or at least three of them - are really good and fun.
It is to bad that people seem always to go for fast face decks, but with C'Thun/Control Warrior and N'Zoth Paladin/Rouge/Priest there are enough slow decks to choose from.
I really like this expension and the new rotation based format is really good for new players.

Don't get me wrong, I love Hearthstone, but this is just a terrible product.
