Unlike some cringe-worthy games, the characters feel developed and not as if they’re simply jumping into relationships willy nilly. The storyline is sweet, sometimes saddening, and makes AlienWorks a developer to keep an eye on in the future.
Highway Blossoms may not bring anything new to the table through its story, but it gets you emotionally involved through the cute, and relatable characters.
While this game isn't what I was expecting it to be, (which was a fan-service type virtual novel, such as NekoPara), it was actually a really good VN. The story in it was amazing, and actually hit kinda close to home, even with me being a male. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic comedy style virtual novel.
A charming story, filled with numerous amusing moments, but also a few sad ones that, at least for me, "touched" me. I enjoyed the art and the OST as well, and the characters felt well-developed. As I mentioned before, the storyline was really endearing. However, I suggest installing the official restoration patch, as the game is censored on Steam.
For Steam achievement hunters: the game has 19 achievements. I have so far 18 unlocked and have only beaten the game once. I have only started the remaster and not yet touched the DLC. And I have not thought once about its achievements. It is obviously easy to fully complete this game, since it is a Visual Novel, and on top of that a kinetic one.
What an enjoyable VN, it was kinda boring at the start (like the first hour or so) but then it really picked up to the point of impressing me. The artwork is nice, the voice acting is not amazing but I liked it, and the little animations they do with the sprites of the characters added lots of personality to them.
If you like yuri and light hearted stories then this is an absolute YES.
SummaryA yuri visual novel about Amber, a girl who's trying her best to be alone on the road, until she stumbles upon a young hitchhiker and the journal of a prospector from long ago.
