ThranxBFeb 16, 2009A tad buggy and the controls leave something to be desired, but a very well done game. This is a fantastic casual game that blends RPG and RTS very well. Think of it along the lines of a small version of The Guild 2 with a little Action RPG thrown in to keep you busy. :) Sad that there's not a widescreen option, but maybe they're patch that in later. Worth the $20.

Aug 1, 2013Small game, with many flaws, but so addictive... If you have une hour or two to kill, that's the perfect game for that task. It could maybe have been interesting to have different layers of maps, not always starting in the bottom right corner.

BenjaminVAug 5, 2009while a little shallow, the game provides a good chunk of play that you can just pick up without dedicating too much time to it. it will keep you entertained until you need to do something else and id say thats a pretty good goal for a game of this scope.

In the end, the best thing about Hinterland is the price tag. The game is designed to be quite short. An average difficulty game should last between six and eight hours. It's also quite replayable, as every new game offers a new randomized world to conquer.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)A surprisingly complex and entertaining mixture of Diablo and Sim City. Although the presentation is typical for a budget title which contents will keep you for a long time. [Nov 2008]

The greatest pleasure of Hinterland lies in its combination of simple mechanics to form an engaging and brisk gameplay experience.
