Full to bursting with unparalleled world building and lore, Hogwarts Legacy shows a level of care rarely seen. I’m stupefied with how amazing it is from top to bottom, and I have a feeling you’ll be hooked the moment you put on the Sorting Hat.

In nearly every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG I’ve always wanted to play. Its open-world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the Wizarding World with its memorable new characters, challenging and nuanced combat, and a wonderfully executed Hogwarts student fantasy that kept me glued to my controller for dozens of hours. It’s certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and some poor enemy variety, but even those couldn’t come close to breaking its enchanting spell over me.

This is truly a special game. It's obvious that Hogwarts Legacy was made by passionate Harry Potter fans for passionate Harry Potter fans as there are plenty of Easter eggs to discover, magical abilities to unlock, and fantastical experiences to uncover. However, the game is not so obtuse as to push away newcomers or those who haven't engaged with Harry Potter lore in a while.

Harry Potter fans will go mad at the chance to experience an epic adventure within a familiar setting recreated with such passion and accuracy, but those who crave it for action RPG soul should know that Hogwarts Legacy is not it features exceptionally deep mechanics. It's a game with a lot of heart, there's no doubt about it, it's simple to play and effective in catapulting you into the Wizarding World thanks to a fun combat system, a narrative component with the right attitude and an open world that may not be huge but certainly with all the curves and POIs at the right point.

Hogwarts Legacy is an altogether excellent port of Wizarding World to PC screens. It proudly belongs to the Young Adult fiction genre, which may make immersion difficult for older gamers.

Even though its world isn’t quite perfect, Hogwarts Legacy is compelling on many levels and surprises with inventiveness and loving details.

Hogwarts Legacy is fun and manages to get a lot of things right, but it already feels somewhat dated, no doubt a hangover from the six-year development cycle. It’s a stunning way to experience Hogwarts and the surrounding area and is probably the best representation for fans of the universe, regardless of the medium. Honestly, this is an exceptional piece of fan service and a loving recreation that for performance reasons and dated design, doesn’t quite come together.

IWe all have to put out there for this studio to know: This game is so **** good! The love and hard work that I am seeing is mindblowing! I literally lost myself exploring the castle, didn't know where I was, from where I came, but was a feeling of lost that I didn't experienced with a game for like 5 years. I just wanted to explore more and more and see all the little details.

Avalanche, you deserve all the love from a gamer, you really beat the hype, the controversy, the experience to make a game of this magnitude. Congratulations and thank you for this game!

Strictly looking at this game in it's own and not comparing it to similar titles, this is the best Harry Potter experience to ever come to PC. If you just focus on the game on it's own merits and don't bring politics into it, it provides a very magical experience. Expand

Alright, so I finished the game in around 50 hours of gameplay (near completion, might take a couple more hours to fully complete) and theAlright, so I finished the game in around 50 hours of gameplay (near completion, might take a couple more hours to fully complete) and the game itself graphically speaking is just gorgeous. There are a lot of details, magic floats everywhere (as it SHOULD) and it is a very magical world to explore. But that is just it, exploring. Exploring isn't that much fun especially when you collect stuff that is almost identical to the other stuff you've already collected or still need to complete.
Some parts feel a bit tedious and is more like a drag than enjoyable gameplay; The enemy types are nothing to really talk about. They do not switch their skillset up, sometimes an attack here and there, can be challenging but most of the time it is easily doable if you get a bit savvy with the combat mechanics. The most fun I've had on the hard difficulty. Enemies hit a bit harder, their shields stay up because it correspondents only to a different spell kind, etc. The finishers are cool as well, and the last enemy you kill make the whole world slow down for a moment, so you can recollect yourself.
The music is just incredible, magical. It reminds me of Harry Potter and is nice.

Gameplay summarized would be: It feels like an Ubisoft game, with a better story.

Sadly there is very little variation on paths you take and the game basically force "A", even if you've chosen for "B". This is somewhat of a bummer to me. There is no direct influence on the world, regarding the path you take. You can't feel it.

The real gem to me are the side quests and the ancient magic. It is just so fun to mess around with it, the way it reacts. Sadly there isn't a lot of variation there as well. The side quests because of certain characters, other than that the rest are just side quests. Also the flying is really cool, the controls aren't all that, but the way you fly is very nicely. oh..
