Its tools are flexible enough to allow you to create a huge variety of monsters and levels, and it’s easy to get addicted to its sometimes-frustrating-but-always-gratifying levels. Few games have the creative flair – both in visuals and design – of Incredipede.

The simple ideas sometimes are the best ones. The team headed by Colin and Sarah Northway presents a simple but astonishingly clever puzzle mix.

The result is an endearing, intelligent little game that's sadly a bit wobbly at the knees. [Feb 2013, p.79]

The basic premise is original and the physics-based gameplay looks interesting but it’s also a bit clumsy: more often than not, you get the impression that chance and insistence are more important than skill and intelligence. [May 2013]

A puzzle-platformer with a unique art direction and some serious challenges. If you can bear the trial-and-error logic behind it you should give it a try.

Incredipede is more like a virtual toy, rather than a game. While it's fun to play with weird creatures, you can't even begin to compare the experience with World of Goo or Armadillo Run. Physics simulation is nice, but the world of Incredipede really needs a set of plain, simple rules.

Expand

The original concept is interesting but the actual game is just a big "press S if the fruit is on right, press A if the fruit is on left". Also, achievements are a joke. Expand

It's not a bad game, but nothing really to recommend it over much else either, so a score of 5. As someone else posted, there's an element of frustration involved with some of the levels, because you have limited control of your little incredipede animal. Some may enjoy learning making this creature with limited mobility wobble across the screen and achieve the solution for the level, but be prepared for some frustration, because it is difficult to make him do what you want sometimes. Experience is maybe kind of like an American trying to learn to eat with chop sticks. So I'd recommend it for a curious diversion, but don't be surprised if it doesn't hold your attention for long, and you want to go back to using a fork. Expand
